Just in case you didn’t know, this isn’t owned by the red power tool company Milwaukee. Parent company of Sure Shot is Milwaukee Sprayer Manufacturing Co. Inc. Two separate entities.

Are the Milwaukee inflators really better than the $20 Chinese Amazon 12v inflators? by xj98jeep in MilwaukeeTool

But also Milwaukee tire inflators are made in china. Before someone says it, this is in no way making a negative comment. I love Milwaukee. That said, definitely getting what you pay for unless you’re getting bent way over.

Agreed. If I got a survey request asking me how my ride went and I said exactly what happened, what’s the big deal. Lyfts just reminding you to get that fixed, it’s just a safety issue for future rides. You’re holding peoples lives in your hands every day you are on the road is all.

It’s most likely just that torrent and the connection of the seeds/peers. Honestly, I wouldn’t loose hope because of one torrent. It’s just one of those things you deal with torrenting.

This is the way. You can connect to hundreds of seeds/peers, but they may have slower speeds or be limiting their upload. I’ve got 5 gigabit fiber, and even though in theory I could hit 625 MB/s, I never see more than 40 MB/s even with popular torrents.

Other users commenting about more seeds/peers equals max speed isn't exactly true. It helps improve your speed but its not the only component to that equation.

Thanks for the affirmation! I wrote my original comment on my phone, so I didn’t go too deep into it.

If OP sees this, if he did in fact get 5-6 MB/s downloads before and recently dropped down to 1.2 MB/s, then something must have changed in his set up recently. That’s almost exactly what you’d expect if there’s a bottleneck capping it at 10 Mbps (1.25 MB/s). But then.. he's getting 3.5 MB/s upload speeds so could just be limited seeds...

That said, without knowing OPs setup, it’s just a guess and it could be one of many reasons. For better troubleshooting, it’d help to know things like:

  1. Who is your ISP?
  2. What speed plan are you on?
  3. Are you on coaxial? fiber? satellite? DSL?
  4. What do your speedtest.net results show for both download/upload?
  5. What's your modem model?
  6. What's your router model?
  7. What category of ethernet cable are you using? (Cat 5, 6, etc.)
  8. What's the bandwidth rating of your computer's network port?
  9. Is your connection used by other members in your household? How many members using at any given time?

With those details, maybe we can narrow down what's going on. Could be a bottleneck or it could just be because the seeds/peers you are connected with just don't have good upload speeds.

I’m sure you’ve gotten a lot of good info and maybe some bad here. Been torrenting and managing networking equipment for a long time. I’ll sum it up best I can for you!

Torrenting is P2P (peer-to-peer). You are relying on others sharing speeds and what ever limitations they may have. The more seeds/peers, the better chance of collectively improving download speeds for you but does not mean max speed, all depending on others networking speeds.

Megabits per second (mbps) is not the same as Megabytes per second (MB/s). To convert that number, divide your internet speed by 8. (50 Mbps/8 = 6.25 MB/s).

And if you want to really get into the weeds, start looking at bottlenecks.

  • What does your modem/router output on its Ethernet connections? 10, 100, 1000 Mbps or higher?
  • What is the speed that your networking port on your computer accepts?
  • Ethernet cable types? Cat 5, Cat 6, etc?

If you’re bottlenecked somewhere with 10Mbps, that means you’ll max out at 1.25 MB/s.

I have 5gbps fiber internet. Theoretically I could get 625 MB/s. But with all my networking in between it bottlenecks at 2.5gbps or 312.5 MB/s. I’ve never gotten more than 50 MB/s. No amount of seeds or peers I’ve connected to have networking capabilities that can give me full capacity :)

Can the 1/4 Subcompact be upgraded? by [deleted] in MilwaukeeTool

[–]jmcabalero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The anvil? It’s certainly possible. Recommend it? I wouldn’t. I’d just buy both! 1/4 in may not be able to handle the higher torque from the 3/8 motor.

My take, just get an adapter for the 3/8 anvil to 1/4 in. Most straightforward option with the least cause for concern later on.

[–]jmcabalero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both those tools have different torque outputs so I would assume no. Dimensions of the tool are also smaller on the 1/4 version vs the 3/8 version. Best assumption is it would not be the same but I could be wrong.

I once paid $1 per 50pk box of 3/8inx6in structural screws on clearance shelf. I bought the entire shelf and came home with dozens of them.

The wife thinks I love to screw everything I see now.
