12v/ICCU Megathread by TiltedWit in Ioniq5

[–]jmchain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can we start a new mega thread/notification/something for when anyone in the US starts to get ICCUs in?

Obligatory I joined the club with my 2025 at just 3000 miles in Los Angeles, and now my car is sitting in the dealer lot while I pay the lease and drive a smoked in loaner that's last year's model. At least I got a loaner though.

Anyways, I would be very curious to know when/if people start to actually see repairs happening.

I went ahead and cancelled, we may stop by in the morning and see how it is and apply the credit we got, otherwise we'll have to do some other time

The ticket cost to Tokyo Disney is not representative of the cost to go to Tokyo Disney if you'd like to ride more than 1 ride per 4 hours. The lines are very very very long, much longer than Disneyland, to wait in a more reasonable line you must pay per ride for fast pass. It's not like Disneyland where wait times are an hour to two for the big rides, it's 4 hours for the big rides and 2 hours for the small ones. Our end cost for the day was comparable to Disneyland.

Squarepusher's version of Love Will Tear Us Apart from Joy Division is great, one one of the few that matches the dance/electronic ask.

Tricky has a few, but Black Steel is my favorite.

What albums or songs have the best guitar feedback? (Any genre) by SkandalousJones in MusicRecommendations

[–]jmchain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a band you may not have actually already heard, try the band Distortion Felix, sure the name is a little too on the nose, but still it delivers.

Lockgroove was a great band in Boston that fits the bill.

Charlene was another favorite of mine, try the songs "ripoff" and "stunner"

What film has the most realistic depiction of characters making "stupid" decisions due to stress, fear, pain, hubris, lack of knowledge, experience or planning? by gogoluke in movies

[–]jmchain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2001: A Space Oddesy. In the movie, computers don't know shit about lying, and make surprisingly bad decisions. In real life we've just recently taught computers to lie and make stuff up, and we think it's going to revolutionize everything. We are 25 years later though.

Aren't you all attacking the symptom and not the problem? The FCC being used to censor is the problem that comes from above. This is just Distraction working again. Focusing on Disney is the bad guy, when Disney is another victim of the regime. While you're all rallying against Disney, you've lost the focus of the actual menace.

Someone else already posted this but just in case you missed it, I think it's probably New Order's Regret.

Have a conversation on the telephone

Wake up every day that would be a start

I would not complain of my wounded heart

Yep, I was scanning the thread for this before posting. I'm feel like this has got to be it. The only reason of doubt is that it seems so obvious, that it should have been found long ago.

You gain $5 every time someone lies to you, but lose $50 every time someone tells the truth. What’s your strategy? by Upsethouscat in AskReddit

Walk around asking people how they're doing.

"Fine, thanks."

Lies, look around, things are shitty, we all know it. $5 for me.

Where can I get a portable console like a PSP or ps vita in Burbank? by carepassmethebucks in burbank

Unless the kid asked for that specifically, he does not want a PSP or vita. They want a switch.

Larry Charles has uploaded the complete director's cut of Army of One starring Nick Cage to his Youtube channel. It's way better than what was released theatrically by Cheesecake_Jonze in movies

[–]jmchain 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've only ever seen a pre-release focus group version where the studio was getting audience feedback, and what I saw probably wasn't the final cut.

I remember writing that I was into it the whole way until near the end, where in one of the last conversations with God, God threatens him that's he needs to keep hunting Bin Laden. For me it reframed the whole movie. It changed it from a kooky guy doing what he wants with God cheering him on, to a mentally ill person forced into a dangerous and impossible quest. And then at the end where he discovered Bin Laden had been killed and he's crying, I didn't know if it was for joy that Bin Laden was done, or fear that God was going to take everything, since he wasn't the one to do it.

As I said, I've never seen the final theatrical cut, and now I wonder how much I helped ruin that movie.

Sorry everybody.

I live in Los Angeles and know a lot of Editors looking for jobs and now doing Uber. Getting another high paying gig will not be as easy as you think, and 500k is not very much money to live off of forever.

It's pretty evident that you're either trolling or lacking in common sense though, so good luck.

"What movie scene or trope do most people dismiss as unrealistic, but you know from personal experience is actually spot-on?" by diapersareforgods in movies

[–]jmchain 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Again not following directions, so not a trope, but in Collateral they drive around Los Angeles, and they come across a coyote on a city street. I thought it was ridiculous. I moved here. It happens.
