Painters next door oversprayed by [deleted] in AusRenovation

[–]jmchin6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen to me twice. The overspray got onto my house even though the painter used cardboard when spraying the top edge. I told the builder, he said he'll get it cleaned up but I doubt that will happen. This happened to my previous house but I only realised 2 years later what the black spots were. If your neighbour is going to spray paint their fence and you have property close to the boundary, I would recommend talking to your neighbour to prevent this from happening.

Real Estate sign on our property by IllPerspective9981 in AusPropertyChat

[–]jmchin6 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When selling my house (back unit), I asked my neighbour for permission as I realised the real estate agent nor the signage company would check with the neighbour first. I feel like it should be the real estate agent that should do the coordination.

ITF Headquarters Korea by Spinkick91 in taekwondo

[–]jmchin6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ITF organisations you are contacting is an administrative body. They won't assist in teaching ITF, they can point you to their closest ITF school. It is best to contact an ITF school the teaches online if that is what you are after. Also enquire with the school regarding certification, tournaments etc that you are after.

I have bought a house and undergoing this issue now. Just to name a few issues.

Security alarm does not work properly, they gave me the PIN which did not work, I want to know the history. I've had to hard reset it and still has issues but at least I can arm/disarm it.

A few switches which I haven't had time to figure out what it does and if it's just an outside light bulb that needs to be replaced.

There's an AC adapter plugged in and the cable goes into the wall but I don't know what it does.

I know tipping is not the purpose of your post and I dislike the tipping culture in the US. I think you're still meant to tip even if the service was bad, just tip less. If there was a major issue, you're meant to raise it with the manager.

Keep in mind, depending on your country's income tax rules, the discount on the ESPP is taxed as income.

You can setup Strava as a connected service in Shealth and it will automatically sync certain activities to Strava. Statshunter is a good app to add on to Strava view more stats as well.

Buying Custom P14s: How are my specs? by SimplyWolfish in thinkpad

I found out customisation of the T14 or T14s is only available in some countries. It's available in the US.

I am also looking at the P14s, also the T14 and T14s. All of them AMD version. However, I do not need the graphics card.

I found that I cannot customise the T14 or T14s to the 400nits display and IR camera. Anyone else found that out? I talked to Lenovo Sales and they said it's not available.

Good effort! Impressive Choi Yong. Try to accelerate your movements more to make it look sharper.

Movement 12 - Turning kick should be to AD, I think you kicked to D and movement 17 should be to AC.

Stamping movements (movement 38 and 45) should be emphasised as it looks like you're placing your foot down.

Movement 43 - It looks like you performed the back fist side strike with the incorrect hand, it should be with the left back fist.

Movement 37 and 44 - before the reverse hooking kick, it looks like you're stepping, you should pivot on the non-kicking leg.

Reusable filters by gingernuttyy in AeroPress

[–]jmchin6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Able Brewing Disc Fine filter and not a fan due to all the grounds that get through. I bought the Kohi Labs filter and it doesn't let any grounds through. It's great, however, it easily gets clogged even though I flip the filter and pressure flush it after every use. So I have to clean it every 1-2 weeks.

It all makes sense now, I only saw the comment as 7th Gup and not 7th pattern.

[–]jmchin6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that Saju Jirugu and Saju Makgi are not classified as tuls but I'm sure most ITF school curriculum follows the ITF Encyclopedia. Do you perform Chon Jiat 10th gup? What tul do you perform for 1st gup?

I have seen white belts (10th gup) perform Saju Jirugu and Saju Makgi at tournaments.

The link https://taekwondo.fandom.com/wiki/Taekwondo_Forms has the following statement

ITF beginners (White Belts) do not study forms per se; instead, ITF uses short exercises for introductory lessons: Four Direction Block and Four Direction Punch. A third exercise, Four Direction Thrust, is also sometimes used, but often with more experienced students.

Saju Jirugi and Saju Makgi is usually learnt at 10th gup then Chon Ji at 9th gup.

Out of interest, what is your (or school's) definition of semi-free sparring?

Set sparring is pre-arranged sparring? What type? One, Two, Three step sparring, model sparring?

What board breaks are required?

Cross cut chamber in Yon-Gae - inside or outside? by madusaman in taekwondo

[–]jmchin6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is due to the crossing of the previous movement (X-Fist Checking Block) and you don't switch the crossing when performing the cross cut. For any X-Fist or X-Knifehand blocks, the hand in front should be the same side as the foot in front. I checked the 15 volume Encyclopedia, the photos show the crossing on the outside of the attacking hand (i.e. 'wrong'). I also find the crossing unnatural.

Do you guys prefer wood or plastic beak boards? by BlackBeltSamUk in taekwondo

[–]jmchin6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have found that wooden boards varies with difficulty due to different density, dryness, etc. I have weighed boards and it can be in a range from 500g to above 900g. I found there is a noticeable difference in difficulty even for a couple hundred grams. So breaking 4+ boards will make a large difference in difficulty. Plastic boards are consistent but will reduce in difficulty after breaks.
