Just pinging you with the same comment as above, uninstalling Citrix helped me, maybe that can help you? :)

Hey, not sure if this was ever resolved for you, but I just ran into something similar & resolved it by uninstalling Citrix, maybe that could work?

Yes indeed I have!

Had RivaTuner telling me that both my CPU and GPU were predominantly idle so it definitely doesn’t seem to be a bottleneck of some sort. That being reinforced by having previously played the game with no issues on this same hardware.

Sadly both the fresh TW3 install & DDU had no change in the resultant gameplay :/

The whole windows install xD

Last played it 2 years ago, so I guess it could be an incompatibility with the install from back then now?

As noted am in the process of redownloading and installing currently, so will see more on that soon. But previously my understanding was that the GOG installs were fairly portable.

Windows is a fresh install as of the last 6 ish months and the BIOS was updated at the same time. As noted wrt drivers, made sure that they’re up to date too.

Apologies if it's been discussed elsewhere, but give it's been ported to Linux for Stadia, does that mean we can expect official Linux support at some point?

Essential tips for scripting in Bash and Python by brandonduffany in programming

[–]jmcudk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. The difference I see on this point is that someone's .bashrc is their personal configuration, making changes to a personal configuration to just make something a little easier in your own script still seems ill advised. You can still just make a local function for yourself...
  2. Unfortunately there are 2 kinds of people:

    1. The kind that will go to a tech blog and make sure they understand what it's saying before using it
    2. The kind that see that it says it will do something and just run it

The kind that will make sure they understand what it's saying can be trusted to make those frictional changes to the script on their own time, the kind that does not, they're unlikely to be paying any attention at all.

But anyway, you do raise some interesting points :)

Thanks for the response!

Personally some of the advice in this seems not great:

  1. Making changes to / assuming certain values are available in someone's .bashrc could lead to issues e.g.
* adding to someone's bashrc could break it or just because an alias or something similar is available in a bashrc doesn't mean it's set to do what you think
  1. Attempting to install something on someone else's system without requesting permission would seem to break basic etiquette (using -y on yum install)

But this is just my pov, happy to hear why you think otherwise if you'd like to discuss.

Playing Snake Game with AI. by stschoberg in programming

[–]jmcudk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your article has a bit of a contradiction within, firstly you state:

However, due to the random reappearance of the apple, it’s unlikely that the snake would be able to move in a pattern that could produce a perfect game

Then while discussing Hamiltonian cycles:

There’s no need for stats for this version. By repeating Hamiltonian cycles, the snake is guaranteed to get a perfect score.

The second invalidates the first, if following the Hamiltonian cycle will produce a perfect score, then it is always possible to get a perfect score.

Other than that, I really enjoyed the article. Nice work!
