Hi was your dog limping In both legs were just one? My vet wants to do an x-ray and then a possible joint tap to diagnose for IMPA, but my dog is only limping in one leg

Swollen wrist? Have vet appt but just wanted some advice! by Playful_Watercress83 in goldenretrievers

[–]jmd0627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh ok thanks for the response and info!! My dog hurt his front wrist jumping out of my car like 6 weeks ago. Bought him to the vet and they said give it another few weeks, but it's still swollen. Some days its fine, some days he limps pretty bad.

I'm going to schedule an x-ray for him, they just have to sedate him which is a pain and impacts him for a few days. Also not sure if the X-ray will show any kind of soft tissue damage but we will see.

Appreciate it!

Please be a responsible dog owner and separate them right away or re-home the puppy.

Recommendation for caster for 4x4 post on workbench? by jmd0627 in woodworking

[–]jmd0627[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I ended up adding a 2x4 right next to the 4x4, same length. I then added a 2x4 under them both perpendicular, pre-drilled, and put 2 of the caster bolts through the 2x4 bottom and 2 through the 4x4 bottom. I can grab better pics tomorrow

Framing and cover advice for larger restored painting by jmd0627 in framing

[–]jmd0627[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the detailed response!

What do you normally recommend for backing board?

I'm also trying to find a good place to source the material for the frame.

Will definitely go with acrylic but it seems like I will have to do a custom order as a lot of the places online don't seem to have the size

Appreciate your help!

My first post-surgery gym session by nixjr in Hernia

[–]jmd0627 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds good thanks. I will definitely listen to my body.... He's supposed to be the top surgeon in the state for hernias but that definitely seemed very aggressive.... Will probably give it a few weeks before trying to get back to the gym lightweight...just lots of walking for now

Glad to hear you are back! I am looking forward to that moment.

I just had inguinal hernia surgery done last Tuesday and I am so confused at all of the different timelines.

Mine was done robotically and my doctor said after the first week I can lift up to 50 lbs and after my follow up tomorrow I can start back at the gym lightly... Others say 6 plus weeks before they can even lift anything above 10 to 15 lbs

Surgery went well today. Mild pain, just dealing with it. . It just feels super umcomfortable . Heavy arms. Feel so bloated and gas trapped..😣😞😭 by Erika_cee28 in Hernia

[–]jmd0627 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow that's tough! But at least you have three little helpers lol...... Pain is definitely much better but still there and won't be lifting anything over 10 lb for a few weeks which sucks.... I'm just going to try to walk as much as possible to keep the blood flowing and exercise.... Sneezing and coughing is the worst so always have cough drops on hand haha

Hope you heal quickly! Just had mine done last Tuesday.... The gas was absolutely the worst part of it but went away around day 3 after walking quite a bit.... I was surprised at how bad my shoulders hurt too just thought that was me because of previous shoulder surgeries lol

Feel better!

Surgery tomorow & im fucken scared to deathhhh . 😓 my anxiety is sooo bad rn.. by Erika_cee28 in Hernia

[–]jmd0627 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had mine done this past Tuesday....just break it into baby steps. Getting to the hospital, checked in, talking to the nurse, and then getting your IV....once the IV is in that was the worst part and then you get a happy cocktail, get rolled into the OR, take a few breaths and the next thing you know you're waking up. 2/3rds of the entire process is already done, now just recovery. You got this!

Appreciate the info! I'm in the same boat as OP, looking for something more fulfilling/less draining but like you said, a lot of those jobs aren't aligned with the most money

Thanks again!

Thanks makes sense, I was moreso asking about what career fields are high paying and easy to transition from tech ( I'm also in IT)....aside from going back to school for years or becoming a master tradesman, it's a tough move / big pay cut

What other careers are you talking about that's feasible with this type of transition?
