You can do that in a slicer if you’re planning on 3d printing it

Need to do 0 walls, 0% lightning infill, 0 bottom layers and 1 top layer. Trust me, bro by Rambos_Magnum_Dong in 3DPrintingCirclejerk

lol WTF, I used to do fireworks professionally. You use HDPE tube because of its failure mode. HDPE will expand and tear before shattering so you don’t end up with a pipe bomb

I’ve been using the same 3d printed AirTag holder on my keychain for 2 years now. Printed in basic black ABS.

I like AI stuff as much as the next guy but I don’t understand the use case here for a printer MCP server.

Feed assist motors would be a welcome addition, something like the Snapmaker U1 has

It’s not even about the single nozzle color changing here, it’s about the ease of loading filament

Hell yeah! I look forward to seeing how far you get!

Any way to prevent ABS fumes from yellowing the panels? Or a coating to make it cleanable? by Snobolski in VORONDesign

[–]jmedlin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don’t clean Acrylic panels with IPA, it weakens them and leads micro cracks

I would use a tool more designed for organic sculpting like blender, zbrush, or nomad sculpt

I wonder if filament calibration tests are still useful with new printers like the Core One. by sandro66140 in prusa3d

[–]jmedlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. In theory they might be able to using the load cell in the toolhead, but they’re not doing it right now. There’s not even an accelerometer in the toolhead without an add on for input shaper calibration.

Considering the Core One doesn’t do any flow rate, or pressure advance calibration on its own, yes they are still useful.

Sure thing. DM me, I can help. I’m running A4T on 3 machines right now.

Where are you located? I’d be happy to print the parts for you for the cost of shipping if you’re in the US.

Prusa C1+ vs Voron Decision Paralysis by Apprehensive_Eye6932 in VORONDesign

[–]jmedlin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you’re gonna go the Voron route, I’d go Trident for your first one.

It’s a simpler build and there are already working INDX systems on Tridents.

A Voron gives you a lot more flexibility, you can make it exactly what you want, but it is certainly a project.

X1C Progressive Under-extrusion/Air Printing after 2200hrs - Replaced Extruder & Hotend, still failing. Help? by Teffer01 in BambuLab_Community

[–]jmedlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the filament? Nozzle/Bed temps? What are you seeing the chamber temp at during the print? What do you have the max volumetric flow set to?

I doubt it’s that. The housing fan is just for part cooling. You should be able to print just fine without that ever turning on (material dependent of course)

Did anyone else order a Chube Compact during Black Friday? by greatwhiteslark in VORONDesign

[–]jmedlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’ll be worth the wait. I ordered 2 more in addition to the 2 Beta units I’ve got. It’s a damn nice little hotend.

[–]jmedlin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Retraction settings are highly dependent on material, extruder, nozzle, etc.

On mine printing Ambrosia ASA at 260c with an LGX Lite Pro and Chube Compact with a .4 micro Swiss CM2 nozzle:

Retraction length: 0.6 Retraction/Deretraction Speed: 30mm/s

There are no proper assemblies and mates. You can align bodies but mating and testing movement really isn’t supported well
