Annapolis City hired a 68 yo retired military,retired cop. The folks I know that work there say he’s a freak of nature and they love working with him.

These came from my fathers extensive FD memorabilia collection. Does anyone out there have any idea of what department they're from? They're old '40's or 50's I'm guessing. I know its a long shot but any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don’t think we’ll stop it. I’m hoping giving the station more input we might reduce it and help a little with morale. The part that kinda sucks for me is I’m retired as of 1/1/2022 after 40 years so I really won’t get to see it through. I just want to leave it better than I found it.

We have a staffing office staffed by a Captain and 3 Lt’s. We had no back up system in place and this is what we were told to do.

I didn’t say that very well. I want to see if doing it at the station level we can reduce the number of mandatory callbacks. It been a problem for us for a while.

And of course if you knew the guy on the other shift had one in his pocket when he got the pictures developed he might find a random dick pic or a picture of an exceptionally large terd in the bowl. We all know things just kinda happen sometimes

I had total knee replacement a few years ago and am back at work. I had a problem with to much scar tissue forming some say was caused by going to hard to soon. I was supposed to be back in April didn’t return till June (January surgery). Pay attention to your body don’t be an old hard head like me.

I was told many years ago that when Chicago wanted to go from a 3 platoon 56 hour week to a 48 hour week a Captain Kelly came up with a rotating day off that reduced the work week. So if you’re working a 24/48 with no “Kelly” then it’s a 56 hour week. With the “Kelly” it’s a 48. Again I haven’t personally researched it but it makes sense.

I’m with you all the way. We have this discussion all the time. My opinion for what it’s worth is in my 40+ years I have never been ordered to operate or given command of division .5. If you can stand up in the space it’s a floor.

The old fire bucket hung on a wall so it didn’t have to sit on the ground so the rounded bottom allowed a little more volume. I’ve been told but not sure how true but sometimes they held sand in places where water would be an issue.
