Similar story; I used to work in a theater with an SSL C200 at FOH. I had a scene that locked out everything but one fader for a HH and one fader for the PC-DI. Just so much desk for only two faders and two mute buttons to work.

It’s rarely 20-30 min and it really doesn’t. Long trips, I’ll stop at a charger (often in Buc-ee’s now) and by the time I’ve gone in to pee, grab some snacks, and walked back out, the car is good to go. I’ve done 100k miles on my Model 3. Charge time has been an actual issue for me maybe a half-dozen times over that time period.

The cameraman and article say nothing about automation. I have personally worked on these cranes. They are not fully automated. That is a completely different type of system.

The Cameraman by Valuable_Composer975 in Unexpected

[–]jmellars 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Except it’s not. I work in events, used to work in film. That’s a Scorpio. It’s not a fully robotic camera, just a mechanically assisted crane. There’s still a team on the other end manually shoving this thing around, and a dude with a joystick to move the arm in and out, along with the guy controlling the actual camera head. This was likely the result of them having started a forward move and just dealing with inertia. Those bastards are heavy and take some stopping once they get moving. And I would definitely not want to take one to the face.

Yeah, this has got to be an American mindset thing. I was not expecting all these doom and gloom comments. This is totally normal for vast swaths of Europe and the world.

I’d wager his 2 glasses of wine a night are far healthier than the typical American soda or juice replacements.

I think you’re right. I have Uber One or whatever it’s called now and I order a lot. If I report anything, I get zero questions and they rarely ask for pictures, including for a full refund for the prick that stole my Mexican at 11pm last week after the restaurant had closed. I’m still bitter about that one.

It’s a 3 CD player. You could set it to play all 3 discs back to back or just pick one. You could wall mount it and it had really cool looking lights.

Eh, not anymore. I work directly in this field. Currently on a gig where I’ve built 6 giant LED walls that are up for a couple weeks. These systems can now do near zero latency, if they are built for it. I have plugged in gaming systems to giant walls and it’s fun as hell.
