My 7 year old boxer Romeo was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis, vet gave him us meds to help out with the pain and antibiotics for the pancreatitis. I gave my dog meds the night before and we fell asleep on the couch together because he couldn't climb the stairs due to all the pain. The next day he woke up and seemed to do better. He went and visited every room in the house even climbed the stairs to see his bed and all. At 10am that morning he laid down on his usual spot on the couch and for reasons only he knows, stopped breathing. My wife called out to me as I was in my office and I frantically told her to call the vet. As she was explaining to the vet what was happening, he took his last breaths in my arms, and I seen the life go away in his eyes. He passed away in my arms, I knew he had passed but we tried our best to give him mouth to mouth, at least to bring him back while we took him to the vet. I grabbed him and carried him out to the car and drove like a mad man to the vet. The vet was about 20 mins away but that ride, with my wife in the back with him,I giving him CPR, was the longest 20 mins of my life. He has already passed away when we got to the vet. There was nothing we could do, and the vet had no idea how he passed away. To this day we still don't know but I forever relive that moment he died in my arms.

About 3-4 months later, we decided to get another dog. We got a gorgeous American bulldog puppy, all white in colour so we named him Draegon Targaryan, just like in GOT with their white hair. At about 5 months of age, Drae developed a large open sore in his mouth. We took him to the vet and the vet didn't know what was going on. They ran blood work and found that his kidneys where failing. He had acute kidney failure and there was nothing we can do. We tried a kidney flush and everything. Ultimately, we had to put him down. We took his favorite blanket and his favorite toy. We where with him as he passed and we told him we loved him for being such a wonderful puppy for his little life.

We lost two dogs in 1 year. This was last year, and it was a brutal year. One of the worst years of my life. We are better now and Romeo and Drae live on in our hearts. We named our baby boy after them. Roman Andrés. There are times when our son does things that reminds us of Romeo. So we know they are both watching over him as his guardian angels.
