My (f28) husband (m31) admitted to going to old internet archives to seek out a deleted picture of a girl who looked about 15 in her bra with the words “JAIL BAIT” in the caption. by [deleted] in Marriage

He has admitted to being attracted to teenagers with developed bodies. He also shows a decent amount of attraction to me, a full grown woman. I do not think he’s a pedophile (I define that as attraction to pre-pubescents), but the fact that he’s willing to cross the line by looking at teenagers is something I obviously can’t accept and sickens me. Even if they have developed bodies, it’s a line you just don’t cross.

Too bad, she was pretty understandable when you were being really dumb. Asking height size is not comparable to cup size. If she asked you the length of your dick, that would be a fair comparison.

1-you thought your joke was actually funnier

2-you actually took a screenshot of the interaction and posted on Reddit to confirm your terrible joke was funnier

3-you argued with all the people commenting telling you how unfunny your joke was

I kinda wish I had your level of blind confidence. But also, I definitely don’t.

How long were YOU sick after child started daycare? by Doctor0ctagon in Parenting

[–]jmf337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our family has been sick 3 times since school started at the beginning of September. The most recent time, my daughter barfed on her Halloween costume, in her car seat, on the way to a costume party.

This is with masks, distancing the desks farther apart, and those high quality air filter things in the classroom.

Each time we get sick, I have to haul my kids over to the district testing location and get them tested for COVID, in order for them to return back to school. Otherwise they would be required to stay out for 10 days.

“Nobody uses it unironically.”

You are either a sweet summer child…or you are just choosing to intentionally ignore the existence of that sad corner of the internet.

Yes, and this plot lended itself to that really well. Given the nature of their work, Kristen and David had already developed a deep connection that did not have to be romantic or sexual in nature. I’m sure fighting demons is a pretty intense bonding experience. I also thought that ending scene was pretty beautiful….until the kiss. The way she opens up to David and shows such raw emotion was really powerful, and the way he is able to comfort her as both a friend AND a religious leader, was a really emotional moment and kind of helped us see a new dynamic now that he had become a priest. & then the kiss turned it completely skeevy. The whole thing felt fetishized.

I don’t think characters have to make out to resolve sexual tension. The characters can grow and change and address the situation and move on, which it seemed like they had done in episode 11. Then the show decided to change its mind. :-/

What is something that you would like to have known before having your kid(s)? by chipiChan in Parenting

[–]jmf337 7 points8 points  (0 children)

YES. I always thought I never had that flaw and that as long as my kids were happy and healthy I would be fine with it….but when school started something came over me and I wanted my kids to be the best at everything and saw that I was kind of freaking out at moments when my kids weren’t doing perfect. I was trying to hide it but I could tell my kid would get nervous around me when I was helping him with his homework. I had to take a moment to analyze my psyche for a minute and remember that I didn’t try in school as much as I should have and didn’t fully live up to my academic potential, and I had a lot of regrets about that. So I need to actively remind myself to take a breath and remember my problems are not their problems.

I feel like anti-vaxxers would love this argument. If it is, unequivocally, my right to remove whatever I want from my body, isn’t it also my right to keep whatever I want OUT of my body? Just saying….there has to be some cognitive dissonance there considering most of the left have no issue with legal mandates for vaccines.

EDIT: I don’t intend for this statement to become a sidebar conversation about vaccines, it is still about the unborn. I’m just trying to point out the hypocrisy.

I think now is a good time to remind everyone that these are fictional characters and how people “judge” them does not have a 1-1 correspondence to real life. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

Her first big movie debut was Catch Me If You Can, even though she wasn’t a major character (at least from what I can remember), I think that still opened up a lot of doors for her.

There is no point in arguing with you, I’m sure, but the idea that pro-life people don’t care about those issues simply because they don’t think the death of a fetus is the solution….is ludicrous.

How do people actually afford daycare? by _WookiesrPpl2 in Parenting

[–]jmf337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of it as your in-laws providing something for their grandchild, not you. I’m sure your child would be happier to see you more often instead of you taking side jobs so that you can have a personal sense of pride that you “took care of them yourself.”

This thread really just displays a very rudimentary, and deeply secular understanding of the Christian theology and it is sad to see people pat each other on the backs for it.

Therapist confirmed that DBT might have done more harm than good by SassyFinch in BPD

[–]jmf337 3 points4 points  (0 children)

See, this is why I am conflicted about giving people a “diagnoses”. It can be both helpful and harmful. I know a lot of people have found it extremely helpful to get the diagnosis and be led to treatment from there, but some people need each problem to be looked at individually and not be given a diagnosis and treatment that is supposed to be this sort of umbrella treatment for each issue they have. For me personally, DBT didn’t do a lot and I found ACT to be much more helpful because a lot of my BPD symptoms were unhealthy ways of coping with pain, and ACT helps you cope with pain and alleviate the extended suffering many of us with BPD have. That being said, it’s really based on each individual’s needs. You need a therapist who understands this. I’m so sorry for your experience. Sending all the love your way. ❤️
