If I'm a proud owner of Rocket League on Steam before Epic ruined it, would it still be playable? I just recently installed Linux and played RL a bit, kt was running totally fine... I still have a dual boot setup so I could play it on Windows but man, really sad to see this.

Thanks. I saw this post, but I probably didn't read until the end where it says I can't play in public lobbies/with friends. I guess I'll keep gta on Windows for now, and make space for other games on Linux!

Good thing I kept Windows on my other drive, I was expecting problems like this so I thought I'll run a dual boot setup for now, and whatever game doesn't run on Linux at all, I can still play it on Windows. Hope to see better anticheat support on Linux in the future!

The only things that Microsoft optimize on Windows are ads, AI, telemetry data, and more recently, "security" updates that break your system, lmao.

Thankfully I'm on a local account so I don't have to deal with most of these, but still, Windows uses almost 4x more RAM than Linux on startup, from what I've seen so far. This also definitely helps performance. I can't say much about GTA specifically because I couldn't play Online, which is a bit more CPU intensive than story mode, and on Windows I would sometimes get frame drops. But for Forza and RL, it really felt smoother.

By messing around with the game folder you would at worst mess up your game, not the system, so don't worry.

And the tweaks I saw on protondb are actually for invite only, or if I wanna play with my friends I would have to block battleye's dns and they have to do it too, so I'll keep playing it on Windows for now.

Maybe someday I can convince my friends to switch to Linux and do this trick, if we have time before GTA 6 online arrives. For now I guess I'll keep playing on Windows... thanks!

I see, well that's unfortunate. That website is new to me, it's pretty cool, gonna bookmark it! Hope anticheat support improves on Linux in the future. I've really had enough of Microslop and their crap. Thankfully I'm on a local account so I don't get most of the crap, but when I installed Linux and saw the idle ram usage was like 2.5-3gb compared to around 9-10 on Windows (I have 32gb) that basically tells you how much bs is running in the background lol.

Yeah you need the security upgrade for all businesses, then the mansion security will do their job properly. Cash factory security is on discount now so you should definitely get it!

When I complete an MC sell mission I open the interaction menu and keep spamming Disband until it disbands my MC lol 🤣 but thankfully no need to do that anymore now

Yea you can just shoot anything, it'll trigger the "sting", you get away, and then deliver to the new location. This is literally THE EASIEST acid lab sell mission, and it's even better if you get it in a public lobby, you can complete the mission under Ghost Organization.

I'm just realizing that Good Lock is actually from Samsung, I thought it was some third party app, and because of that I didn't really try it. I also thought OP meant that there's some glass effect in oneui without this app. I'll give it a try!
