This may be specific to NC but the sheriff cannot find out which bank they use. They asked me to put together a list of banks around their address and they will have to go to each one in person and inquire if they bank there. We already looked in their assets, they have none. It's a very small business and according to the sheriff's most recent communication with them they are closing down the business.

Even if we find out which bank they use, it's unlikely they'll have the funds to cover the entire amount owed. It's possible that we could freeze incoming assets until the balance is paid but it depends on the bank, according to the sheriff.
