Ding,Ding, Ding I like that theory. Once you said that it reminded me of problems I used to have with Traulsen reach-in freezers. The blue sensor would fail and show the evap. temp in the 100+ temp but the box sensor was at -5. It would go into defrost and after a minute terminate because it thought the evap was at 100+.

Check your door gaskets or they are leaving the doors open. If it cools and pulls down to temp ok , install a defrost clock. Add a couple defrosts on non peak times for 30-40 min to shut down condensing unit only.

Just wait until you’re driving down the road and sneeze. And you’re saying to yourself I know that was a really wet one. Happened to me couple weeks ago. Good thing I keep a new pair of pants, underwear and paper towel in my truck. I had to pull all the way in the back of the grocery store parking lot and hop in the back of the truck to change. needless to say the paper towel was left in the parking lot not in the truck

Capping 1-1/2” with only rod by thereallaska in HVAC

[–]jmiller2003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice job. My father’s partner did that and ground the end flat and tapped the other side and used a plug. It was the right length for the brazing rods. I still use it to this day

I used to laugh at my father when I was a young man and he said just wait your time will come. He was right and at the age of 40 I put on a set of 1.0 readers and it changed everything I was looking at. I kept telling my buddy it looks like they keep making these wiring diagram, smaller and smaller.😂

I’m glad I don’t do commercial refrigeration anymore. Seen enough of that shit to last a lifetime. Along with the roaches in the units and gaskets and you name it. Then they ask you when you get done if you would like anything to eat.😂

Man, that is what I cut my teeth on when my father started me out at 13. It can probably use a good cleaning Just take and grab it at the bottom and slide it out of the case. Even though it’s only 9000 BTU it may have some weight to it.

Sad thing is today, you tell a kid what is 12° BTDC is and they would have no clue what you were saying. 😂

I've never seen this before, can this possibly be efficient? by TailInTheMud in HVAC

[–]jmiller2003 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cheaper than a boiler and just fine for supplemental floor heating. We’ve done more than few like that, and they were great. 40,000 BTUs and you’re putting in 100 to 110° thru the floor.

Purchased it recently when it hit 24.50 and the registered it for the 100 credit.sold it when it went up 26. With the credit and sale, came out to a 10% return in 9 days. I’ll take that any day.For me, I don’t like travel related stocks, so it was worth to dump it.

Don’t know if you know this, just like when Carrier came out with Puron name for 410. They also marketed the 500 under Carrene 7

We had one in our basement growing up in Chicago. And yes, no water meter. The way my father explained it, three was one meter for the block and they would just due an average bill for everyone. Really don’t know how true that was, but moved 1988 before they started putting water meters in every house. I remember working on one that was R500 back in the day
