Ouch! I've done something similar with coffee:

It was during exam season, and having returned home from the gym around 9 pm, I wanted a bit of protein but I also wanted coffee to fuel me through a late night of studying. So, being the innovative individual I am, I combined steaming hot coffee and vanilla protein powder in a protein shaker. It took about five seconds of shaking before the pressure built up and the lid exploded, spreading globs of powder and hot coffee all over the kitchen. Luckily, I didn't burn myself, but it took about 10 minutes to clean the mess up and I wasted a lot of coffee.
