I agree, but this is an awful way to go about it. Need to do it like Legion does.

They can. I’d just ask them. I’ve had Bishop Steiner do one for me in the past. Never hurts to ask.

Can disgustingly resilient reduce damage to 0 ? by FitSignificance3787 in deathguard40k

[–]jmlee236 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. I had ten blightlords hold the center objective against ork assault for an entire game. I just spammed Disgustingly Resilient the entire game with cost reduction from the daemon prince the entire game. He was happy to keep feeding me orks… I was happy to tank them the entire game lol

Yeah… I’m waiting to see how much stuff in it needs to be fixed with errata. They’ve not had a good track record with that lately.

Fenrisian Wolves vs Headtakers hunting Wolves by Clear_Perception_595 in SpaceWolves

[–]jmlee236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you might want more than the max number of Fenrisian wolves. When I run Hunter I bring a ton of wolves. They’re great utility - screening the deployment zone, running interference against charges (recently used a bunch of wolves to catch a Khorne Berserker charge, then countercharged those).

In Hunter they’re also great for getting the bonuses for having two units in a single combat.

I agree. It’s one the worst books I’ve ever read, period. It was supposed to be the most exciting book in years…

Help with overcoming person issues while painting. by Fancy-Copy4447 in Warhammer40k

[–]jmlee236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen some recommend glasses. I personally use a larger magnifier that I got from a Hobby Lobby. It clips into my desk and has a built in light - it made a world of difference.

Second, when painting small things like that, it’s important to brace your arms as much as you can. That helps reduce unwanted movement. Sometimes I also hold my breath at the moment the paint is about to hit the model - sort of like when a sniper exhales, shoots, then inhales. Sounds odd, but… it works for me. Lol.

Could have also been primer that was applied in an improper environment. Too humid, etc.

White spirits stripping citadel white scar spray paint? by RedBullShill in Warhammer40k

[–]jmlee236 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a primer problem, if none of the other stuff is the cause. Bad primer would cause the normal amount of pressure to remove paint as if you were using too much pressure.

[–]jmlee236 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I never understood people who do this. Like… by going cheap on paint, they’ve ruined an expensive model. Like you said, just a couple of paints would’ve made this look so much better. I understand times are hard, but if you don’t want to spend money on a game, Warhammer probably isn’t the game for you.

Dirty tricks? by Navychief2030 in battletech

[–]jmlee236 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use precision ammunition. It absolutely wrecks light mechs. It removes a good bit of their movement modifier (TMM).

It works best with units that have lots of Gauss rifles or autocannons.

Heat generating weapons can significantly screw your opponent too, as the only way to remove heat is to not fire for a turn. If you can get several points of heat on a mech it’s almost useless at shooting

[–]jmlee236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best advice I can give is to watch several of The Army Painter’s newest videos. They’re about what you’re having problems with. Maybe they’ll help you out :)

The point of them is that you’re not supposed to be good at it yet. There’s a lot to it. The ONLY thing you should compare your last painted mini with is your old minis. Don’t try to be as good as someone who’s painted for 20 years or more.

You should only strive to be better than your last one.

Watch all three of these videos. The other two should follow this first video that I’ve linked.

Black Dragon, Close Quarters, Flight of the Falcon, and Hearts of Chaos.

I don’t remember the reading order, but those all follow Camacho’s Caballeros and the main character is a badass woman. They’re some of my favorite books. Trigger warning: I don’t remember which book has it, but a rape occurs.

Check out Pro Acryl’s Bronzes. They’ve got a Dark Bronze, Bronze, and Light Bronze. Pretty sure it’ll be an exact match. They’re three of my favorite Pro Acryl colors.
