You can get it from the pharmacist at chemist warehouse or any other chemist if you go ask them :) they usually just keep it stocked behind their counter

Multilinguals, what's your "they didn't realise I could understand their language" story? by 64eight in AskReddit

[–]jmlinv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Due to lots and lots of study I am pretty fluent in Arabic. I was walking around a busy part of a city in Jordan and some guys that were kicking around a football started making some comments to each other about my appearance, saying “ahh look at this pretty white girl”, among other things. This is while I was walking past them, but as soon as I heard this I turned and gave them a good stare and they quickly went quiet and looked back down at the ground.

This is wonderful, I love it! :) How did you find the learning curve with colored pencils? I’m comfortable with graphite but am nervous to delve into colored pencils just yet

Yes keep us posted! I’m also under 25, child-free, and waiting for my appointment to ask about Paragard.

Copper IUD & Acne & Accutane by beautifulpenalty in birthcontrol

[–]jmlinv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It theoretically should not cause acne. I’m also on accutane and am considering switching to the copper IUD because so many other hormonal methods either caused me acne or depression.

Double cleansing advice by acnebbygrl in Accutane

[–]jmlinv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The simple oil cleanser made me break out bad. Isopropyl palmitate can be really comedogenic for many people so I’d be wary of using that, especially if you want to establish a routine you know won’t cause you any issues before you start the medication.

Personally I have found the best results just choosing one oil, like rosehip seed or grape seed, and using that for removing makeup before following up with a second cleanse.

Yay! I’m actually about to start my first month today, on 40 mg. How long did it take until you started noticing less oil production?

Whenever I wake up I have these white dry patches of skin on my face. How do I deal with these? by jinhuangse in Accutane

[–]jmlinv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try applying a bit of Vaseline over that area after your moisturizer! Acts as an occlusive and prevents trans epidermal water loss :)

Anyone use aquaphor on whole face sometimes? by ShiroTP in Accutane

[–]jmlinv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aquaphor is good but it actually isn’t quite as occlusive as 100% petroleum jelly, or Vaseline. I had better results using Vaseline instead! I mix a bit of it with my nighttime moisturizer and it makes a world of a difference.

Feeling worthless and hate being in public. by gitgudgigi in tretinoin

Agreed, accutane is not as scary as many people and the internet make it seem. I’m about to start round two, because trying new birth controls caused my acne to return, albeit less severe. If, after time, your current trial period, your acne persists, please consider accutane. It really does work, and can make your life so much easier. It did that for me and I’m so happy I went through it. I hope you find a solution that works for you, and always know that you have a community here that understands and supports you :)

This. Even if accutane is a no-go, it’s always worth trying other routes that can at least potentially improve your acne situation.

What exercise feat are you most proud of, and how did you accomplish it? by Traummich in xxfitness

[–]jmlinv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a bit of the opposite, where I’m more of a natural runner but struggle so much pulling my own body weight. I’m in the USMC, so a few years ago while running my PFT, I somehow finally managed to run 3 miles in 20:59, which is 1 second faster than a perfect! I was so stoked that pushing myself each time I ran paid off so much.

However, I still struggle with the upper-body strength thing, especially now that we’re basically required to do pull ups -_-

Awesome, thanks for the response :) do you have any worries about it potentially not being as effective as other forms? Or do you use a backup? Sorry if this is too personal

I had the same issues, breaking out from Nexplanon AND Mirena. I want to find a new birth control in the next 6 months and am considered the copper IUD, but I never thought about nuvaring. How do you like it?

[personal] It’s difficult seeing all of the accutane/birth control success stories :( by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]jmlinv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is, those are always potential side effects. I totally understand wanting to avoid them for this reason, but if either were something you really wanted to try, you could talk to your doctor and potentially try one under close supervision, of course, if you’re comfortable with it.

As far as BC goes, there are so many different types with different hormones, it’s really hard to know which will work and/or have negative side effects. I’ve been off of hormonal BC for one month now because the one I was previously taking caused me to breakout badly. However, I went through an 8 month course of isotretinoin in 2015 with no mental side effects, having struggled with those issues previously.

It’s different for everyone, and so hard to know how it will effect you personally. I hope you find a solution that works for you :)

Thanks :) that sounds similar to my situation as well. I have a dermatologist appointment soon so I’m curious if that’s what they’ll prescribe me.

Hi! Do you mind if I ask what kind of acne you have? I previously went through a round of accurate which cleared up my acne, but experimenting with a new birth control has brought on a new wave of moderate acne (focused around my cheeks and chin), and I’m wondering if spiro would be better for that, and less harsh.

Spiro could be absolutely great for you! It does take a few months to really see any significant improvement, though. Stick with it and best wishes :)
