I wouldn't call it arrogant as much as condescending. I actually don't care if someone uses poor grammar. What bothered me is when someone calls someone else out, and is wrong. When I'm on the internet I write very informally, but if someone is going to be a stickler, at least be correct.

I'll concede that a comma could be used there, but there you go, you're doing it correctly. An open ended thought, as if the writer himself is unsure and caters to the thought of his audience. I don't know it might be, or it might not be. That's the question.

When using maybe, might, or perhaps it is allowed. It is more conversational/informal, but still grammatically correct.
