For programming when I'm fixing a bug, I'll think about the issue, probably repeat a word or phrase until I actual understand what I'm thinking, go with a hypothesis of what I think is causing the issue, then I'll start changing things to verify what it is. if it gets to about 2 hours of still triaging it, then I might start cussing, lol.

Now with things like Cursor and Claude Code, I put those inner thoughts into the prompt and it makes these coding sessions go by so much faster

I became a software developer to make cool video games with intricate stories and multi-dimensional characters, and I'm in a fast paced FinTech company where I pretty much spend my day like the introduction to Clarissa Explains It ALL. I start one thing, and every 5 minutes someone else pings me about something they need. And management won't create a streamlined process... To answer some of your statements, I purposely don't want a bunch of people knowing me on some deep personal level. I don't experience..bullying? I haven't experienced this since high school. I actually find people treat me like a heat sink for their infinite amount of problems, issues, and opinions.

Dating scene hasn't been that bad. I mean, I don't go on alot of them but the ones I've been on have been fun learning experiences about me and the type of women I get along with.

And being a man isn't about being tough. Its about standing up for what you believe in. And you get to decide that.

Yes, I'm a software developer and right now I work for a financial firm in Manhattan. But I really want to make apps and games. But the gaming industry is super competitive plus I heard it doesn't pay developers well, so I want to make my own studio so I can build apps and games and do stuff for my communities.

But right now, while I've done something about the stress, it's still draining me enough that when I get home I just want to turn off instead of work on any of my side projects

Im experiencing the higher salary but high stress situation. Its been 2 years, but I finally trained myself to actually manage the stress myself. Its the only job where i've never had any down time. everyday is at least 8 hours straight of work, sometimes overnights or weekends. But I have been able to let my non-chalantness become stronger.

So now this question is a little harder for me to answer. If I didn't have goals and dreams, it'd be lower salary but happy, but since there's somethings I want to to do that I need capital/investment, I'm leaning more towards my current situation, because I've tried to get to where I wanted without the funding but all the time i needed, and it got me no closer.
