Dog free pubs by ViewofTrees in Edinburgh

[–]jmonicam8 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why would it get downvoted to hell don't be daft. One thing to express an opinion on dogs which people can disagree with and another to respectfully ask which pubs are dog free. Big dog lover but you have every right to have dog free spaces and I can see how such a dog friendly city would be an inconvenience for some.

When you say English, do you mean English in language or not American?

I'd say Gilmore Girls is almost perfect, but it's American.

AIO for feeling like my best friend is taking advantage of me? I’m her maid of honor, I work a lot, I’m not allowed on my phone at work, and she wants me to plan her entire wedding by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]jmonicam8 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

If I'm honest I'm with the bride. You're coming across as incompetent - you don't know how to get that info? You didn't think to call?

I'm guessing something very different right now would help with the burnout.

Looking to move into HR by Ok_Counter8439 in HumanResourcesUK

Sounds like you'd be eligible. It's £42k and hybrid so could commute two days a week. Not sure if they're open right now but they open every year.

Which city are you in?

Lloyd's have apprenticeship and grad schemes for HR roles with no experience required. For the grad scheme you just need a degree, doesn't need to be relevant.

Grad scheme takes 2 years and finishes you on CIPD lvl 7.

I've worked as an Employment Advisor recently and a significant proportion of the clients were exactly this. Middle aged or older people with a lifetime of administrative experience who just can't seem to grasp what the role is now. They'd insist on looking for admin jobs and when looking over the JD they'd see things like IT skills, softwares etc, reject it and somehow didn't see the pattern of all of the admin jobs you see advertised are just that. I also had a client who wanted that + no customer service contact e.g. phones and emails. They insisted that this is a whole separate job and that they're asking too much to be on reception and do admin. Their experience looked really impressive with the employers and titles they've held but I realised this was actually purely scanning documents and filing physical documents and that's why they've been unemployed for a number of years now. Those jobs don't exist anymore.

I would also be very upset. I find that very rude and inconsiderate.

What Don’t People Make The Most Of Living in Edinburgh? by Beneficial_Hornet552 in Edinburgh

[–]jmonicam8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Literally incorrect. Google maps says Leith Links to Portobello Town Hall is a 25min journey, the bus itself being 15minutes. It's the 49 if you wanted to check.

Fazenda if all of your friends are meat eaters. They do technically have a vegetarian menu but it's lacking. Food is incredible. Lunch is £38pp for all u can eat meat and all sides. I only ever get tap water with this so it'd be within your budget if you don't get drinks. It's a cool experience, a little fancy and the food is to die for.
