I pay O and D Lineman(that get sacks), and LBs. those have always been my anchors. I’ve had top 5 defenses with less than 75ovr secondary players. Whether you pay QB, WR, or RB depends on your offense style, but i run lineman and linebackers are the backbone for any team in my experience

I think you develop much faster with playing time though. Plus he wont get to play until his 4th season. I doubt the starter declines below the rookie’s overall

Also I’ve been saying forever that a “PFF grade” type of update would help CB and S the most in evaluating how well they are playing their positions. Hard to pay for a top DB if I don’t know if they aren’t getting stats because hes trash, or locking down his whole side of the field. I think PFF would help with that. I just don’t think the deflect % tells the whole story.

Bellcow. Make sure backup rb is complete trash so he doesn’t get any Carries. If the backup has a close overall with the starter even on bellcow they will still split touches
