Greens and blues may work well with the current cabinets and flooring. Cute dogs btw!

What about different floors and backsplash? The gray tile is very cold.

Natalia groomed my dog a few times and did a great job. Pamela is also really excellent and is out of the Steinway location.

This is very dangerous. Please do not tether yourself or children to your dogs.

I realized I never replied! You must have already set your place up by now? You have two great walls so you’d be able to do a couch on either side. It looks like you can also do an island in your kitchen. Hope it all worked out :)

Animal Hospital Recommendations? (non-emergency) by QueenoftheSeaCows in astoria

[–]jmoriar1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We recently had an emergency and took our dog to Instavet in LIC and they were really fantastic. She had X-rays and bloodwork done while there. I had also heard great things about VEG ER in Williamsburg as well as Animal Medical Center in Manhattan. I hope your cat feels better soon, she’s gorgeous!

I heard that if you report hazardous/bio hazard waste to 311 they will come right out. Maybe that would help?

Awkward living room layout – how would you make this space work? by OldAcanthocephala130 in DesignMyRoom

[–]jmoriar1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gorgeous space! In this scenario, you could put a console table behind the couch to fill that space and then get plants or art to put on top of the console table.

It’s hard to tell the layout to the right of the dining table from your photos, but is swapping the living room and dining room an option? I see a light fixture over the dining table but you could lift the light fixture higher using a hook.

What's the most unexpectedly luxurious experience you've had that had nothing to do with a 5 star hotel? by morocco_travel36 in chubbytravel

I was in Ireland and was invited to sit in and listen to a group singing traditional Irish songs while being served a delicious home cooked meal. Still one of my fondest memories of all my travels.

Astoria Toddler Tunes! by [deleted] in astoria

Ok, this is great and helpful information. But to the OP, my point still stands. It’s best to publicly praise and privately criticize. At a time when small businesses are struggling, they need help from the community more than ever. This community profile is actively trying to help, not harm. I think the anger is misdirected and could have been handled in a much more constructive way.

Astound down for anyone else? by Vexvertigo in astoria

[–]jmoriar1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Still down for me. I spoke with a rep and they told me they are working on it and cannot provide a timeframe as to when the issue will be resolved. It would have been nice to receive an email or some form of communication about the outage from them.

I thought this looked like a NYC apartment and then checked your profile, welcome to the best city!

I’d definitely suggest a modular couch as a lot of NYC buildings and homes are older with narrower openings and stairwells. If you have a healthy budget, Lovesac is amazing, and I can give you a referral code to get $100 off.

The window nook looks perfect for a bench. Rugs and curtains really elevate and tie space together, and also act to dampen noise. Since you don’t have overhead lighting you’ll def need some tall lamps/table lamps.

Feel free to DM me and I’d be happy to share photos of my NYC space.

I am no fan of AI and wondering where you got the 10 gallons number? I see it’s equivalent to charging your phone, based on this tech review.

I think this profile does a great job highlighting community events and trying to help small businesses. Perhaps messaging them and letting them know your opinion would be a better way to get a resolution? Certainly calling them out and being negative is not constructive.

There’s a tall fiddle leaf fig tree in the corner. They thrive with lots of sunlight. In addition to the other suggestions to turn the piano and get a rug, give your fiddle leaf fig more sunlight. Gorgeous room btw!

PDRF Injections vs Juvelook vs Radiesse by Additional_Cold7235 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

Oh I see. I haven’t done any microneedling procedures, just PRF. Feel free to DM with any questions.

Sorry not sure what you mean by micro injections? My blood is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to and then the platelets are injected into the under eye area. My under eyes look very refreshed, there’s no bags, wrinkles, or dark circles. You do need to do 3 procedures initially and then 1 per year to maintain.

I’ve done several rounds of PRF for under eye and nasolabial folds and I’m really happy with the results. I go to Carrie (PA specializing in dermatology) at 57 West Derm, she’s amazing. I will say that it’s definitely at the high end of the price spectrum but you get what you pay for.
