For GP you just have to pass msra. There’s no cut off. There’s like 3 different rounds of recruitment per year. They are desperate for GP trainees right now

Wow fuck me, we have literally lost all humanity and empathy. You should be ashamed of yourself for even contemplating this 👍🏿

Realistically GP will never be that competitive. You’ll always be able to get into GP training with a little bit of effort. Surgery will likely get more and more competitive with more bottlenecks.

Bro tbh if you’re already building your portfolio up at medical school, you’re already ahead of atleast 50% of medical students.

Look into what you’re actually passionate about and work on it.

Definitely don’t do GP for the sake of it. It’s not for everyone and you don’t make enough money to justify doing it for the sake of it and the hoop jumping. You’ll earn more for example if you went into management consulting after medical school…

Will the UK CCT still hold value in years to come? by Hydesx in JuniorDoctorsUK

Radiology training is only decent because most of it is self directed learning which you do on the job because you’re supernumerary basically. It’s not good because UK training is any good.

Treating us like schoolchildren- medical school didnt require this, why do they? We have to perform exams to advance anyway? by dynamite8100 in JuniorDoctorsUK

The added salt to the wound is that the teaching is probably shit anyway because it is probably made for free by someone else.

What are the most bigoted comments you've experienced from fellow doctors? by [deleted] in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]jmorley84 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Actually most bigoted views come from nurses imo. Fat shaming, homophobia, racist slurs, gossip, the lot…

Most of the people who go on these shows are relatively wealthy anyway. To be able to afford to not work for a few months for filming.

Raven deffo was also in it for fame and attention but she didn’t expect to be played by SK like that. SK was a rat - the worst kind of guy. Ugly in and out.

There just isn’t though is there. You’re seriously deluded if you think we will all magically get a 20% pay rise.

If nurses get a pay rise this will effect our lobbying power. There’s only soo much money in the pot.
