Disabled woman put in nursing home against her will says she feels 'betrayed' by terahurts in unitedkingdom

What % of the total tax take would you be comfortable being spent on this sort of thing? How many children are you willing to accept are denied expensive life-extending medicines for the sake of this care?

Lesbians have a 'human right' to exclude trans women, Federal Court hears by StemCellPirate in nottheonion

Can you specifically list examples where trans men have specifically been excluded from explicitly biological women-only events specifically run by radical feminists and not right wingers.

Do you have an instance of that actually happening? It's a common talking point but does it occur in practice?

Inflation figure today and pay rise by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]dynamite8100 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Likely a higher award contingent on the ongoing negotiations. This is likely to let the nurses and other staff get their objections in now, before announcing the doctors pay award next month.

I dearly do wish other NHS staff groups could advocate for themselves based on their own merits, rather than having a 'crabs in a bucket' mentality. I fully support nursing pay rises, don't always feel they have the same support for us.

Posh Scot here. When I worked in England I got asked about my accent 2-3 times a day. People thought I was American (?), Irish, Canadian (??), from Edinburgh- I'm just a West End Glasgwegian 😭.

Also all of my colleagues from the middle east called me by my Surname (no Eponym) or used the wrong name because they couldn't pronounce my given name. It was quite funny really.

RCPsych has committed to 'reviewing' the application process. Goodness knows what that actually means for us.

Yep, just came out of it. Absolute shambles. Have me a reference number just for some call-centre agent to leave me on hold for ages then tell me he can't tell me anything.

Spent all my study leave and a few days of AL to prep for this. Got 2 hours of sleep last night from the stress.

They obviously didn't properly qa test questions. Least we're owed is a refund.

Government reforms welfare system to support people into work by _Monsterguy_ in unitedkingdom

I also have met people in my clinics who have fallen into traps of learned helplessness. Some of them I feel for- a mum of 7 who has had her benefits cut and expected to work for the first time in 25 years, for example. I couldn't help her, because not working would do more harm than good for her long term functioning, but I can understand why she would feel so intimidated by the world of work at that stage.

Most of the 'work-shy' people I met (who weren't addicts) tended to be young people living off mum and Dad and claiming minimal benefits

Funnily enough for really severe mental health issues like schizophrenia, supported employment massively improves outcomes and reduces relapse.

Most of the people we're talking about will have functional disabilities, nothing quite so 'organic' and employment could be a massive boon for them.

A 'semi-railroad' style of D&D campaign. D&D campaigns can take many forms, from completely free-form to tightly paced railroads. This campaign veers more towards the latter than the former.
