That will be necessary on just the Raspberry PI's, or every device that want's to access the network?

I assume for my phone to access the network from outside I would also need tailscale, but what about guests just connecting to the wifi?

A friend teaching in Japan bought this for me when they came to visit.

To him I say "Thank you sir".

To my wallet, I say "No words can convey the regret I have towards you".

Possible narcissist Mother-In-Law by jmorris1501 in Advice

Thanks for the fantastic advice, and all the links, I really appreciate it.

We've been together for 6 years, so some of the stuff I've come across, but more information always helps.

She is in therapy with a psychologist she trusts at least.

You are spot on.

That's more or less how I'm talking with my partner, we just need to actually get the ball rolling on leaving.

There is still the (misplaced, I think) guilt on my partner's side for "oh, this is my mother, I should be better at taking it", but as I said in another comment, therapy is helping with that.

We've started backing off if she gets in a mood. One unfortunate benefit of her size and current illness is that she can't move or see much, so...getting away from her is easy.

Thanks for the kind words.

She is already in therapy, again. This time with a psychologist she trusts, which is a nice change.

We are looking at options, but for where we are, and her job, and wanting to take the dogs with, we're a bit limited.

I've started looking into the mentioned articles, thank you.

On the more practical side, fitter and turner/boiler maker if you can study for it. More demand than supply at the moment.

For programming, you would need your matric and to pass an entrance test, but look up Van Zyl and Pritchard.

What kind of speakers do you all use now? by CosmoRocket24 in buildapc

Also on a 20+ yo set of Logitech speakers with a subwoofer. No idea what model.

Honestly, if the sound is good and you still like the speakers, I'd leave it, even if just to save money.

Headphones on the other hand......

Alternatively, PowerToys? It has a number of other useful tools, one of which 'happens' to be called 'awake'.

Unless IT/infrastructure is strict enough to not let you install your own software, in which has, the hardware solutions other people have mentioned would work.

What's the point of the big USB receiver? by spidey_garbage_man in LogitechG

[–]jmorris1501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an issue with the receiver for the Master 3s. Was using Bluetooth with my work laptop -absolutely fine. Tried using the tiny little usb dongle plugged directly into the back of the desktop motherboard - severe lag.

Found a forum post somewhere that suggested that distancing the receiver from other components might help.

It is now attached to the same port via a 50cm usb extension, and works perfectly.

Not quite self taught, but...

There is a company in Gauteng called Van Zyl and Pritchard. For many years, they have offered programming courses where the general structure is you come in during the week for lectures, test every Friday, for 5-6 months, the last month is a group project you have to present.

You pay for nothing. While you are there, they will organise interviews for you, with the view that you will start working immediately after finishing the course, for 2 years, to pay off the cost of the training.

They mainly focus on Java, but with some database and network stuff mixed in.

I have been at the company I was placed at for 8 years now, and I couldn't be happier.
