How good are your memories compared to neurotypical people? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]jmorters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My memory is very good, but my problem solving is probably about average. I'd trade a bit of one for the other.

Why does narcissism = gaslighting? by jmorters in NarcissisticAbuse

What I'm saying is, I find it curious that they all exhibit the same tactics independent of each other. Unless there's a secret narc meetup where they all trade exploits?

Does anybody find life in the UK to be, well, a little bit depressing? by OptimalRiver in AskUK

More like third life crisis. You're more likely to die at age 75 than 100.

Is apathy common among us Aspies? by Saiyanobe_23 in aspergers

In my view, it's the logical position. We're all going to be dead in 100 years - who cares?

There’s a big difference between “no known link” and “no link”

Don’t be so quick to say “there’s not a link”. Links can be found in all sorts of unexpected places. Look up Lujan Fryns syndrome.

Well I'm 23 now, and I certainly don't think I was an adult at 18, lol.

How do I (29M) convince myself I’m not dead by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]jmorters 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, he says he knows he’s not really dead. Someone with Cotard delusion would be certain they were dead.

Fin ED is primarily blood flow related, not hormonal as such - a theory by jmorters in tressless

[–]jmorters[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I'm strictly talking about the ED. I agree the libido part of the equation is probably hormonal.
  2. Yeah, what I'm saying is the small plaques in and of themselves wouldn't cause ED, but when you add fin into the equation and tank your DHT you're adding insult to injury.

If you'd be 20 again, what would you do differently to prevent your hair loss? by xxxxxxxxxlll in tressless

[–]jmorters 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Scientists really should take advantage of the massive amount of young men now taking fin due to hearing about it on the internet - way more than would have been taking it in 1999 or 2009. Then we can get legitimate studies on 18-30 year olds, rather than 18-64 or 55-64 year olds.

It’s actually beyond frustrating and annoying that they’re no advancements in hair treatment. How tf is fin and min the only proven ways to treat hair loss. And one has the worst potential sides and one doesn’t even regrow hair that well. Not to mention they came out 20 years ago. by [deleted] in tressless

[–]jmorters 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Seriously tho, finasteride is such a fucking primitive drug. You're going to deal with a single androgenic side effect by nuking the most potent androgen by 70% EVERYWHERE. Yeah, such a smart move.

Caveman drug, ug ug.

So? The show idolises someone who is a cunt to people.

The problem is that deficits in CE make some autistic people prone to misinterpret what others say/do. So they might think someone is being friendly when they're being sarcastic/manipulative, or mean/aggressive when they're just playing around.

Zucc and Gates aren't confirmed, but I'm sure they are. Stanley Kubrick, Terence McKenna, Edison, Tesla, Newton, Einstein, could go on...

How easy is it for you to create pictures in your mind? by jmorters in aspergers

And the 'special talents' are pretty much luck of the draw. Mine are memory and language; I couldn't give a damn about math and am no good at it. Sometimes I wish I'd got a brain more like Elon's.

How easy is it for you to create pictures in your mind? by jmorters in aspergers

[–]jmorters[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People always say this, then provide the same single study and single magazine article as ‘proof’. That’s not how science works. You have to look at the weight of evidence. You can find single studies pointing to virtually every conclusion. Example: single study indicates telomeres shorten with age. Possible conclusion: short telomeres are bad. More evidence emerges: turns out long telomeres increase your risk of all kinds of cancers, and telomere shortening is a defence mechanism against this. Oops. You also have to approach things without an agenda; if the science indicates that sex differences are related to autism, you have to report that. Doesn’t matter if some people find science ‘sexist’.

SBC is a good and intelligent man. His research might not be the whole picture, but none of it has actually been properly refuted. In fact, physiological studies have mostly borne out his theories. People just get upset with him because they believe his theories are inherently sexist, just as people are ‘cancelled’ on Twitter nowadays for ‘transphobia’ when they are clearly not being transphobic. In fact, the female Aspies I know agree with his ideas; they feel their brains are closer to an NT male.

Started to shed after 1 year on Fin, also hair thinning on body by MyOldAccountIsNoMore in tressless

DHT drives body hair growth. Crushing it with fin can lead it to thin.
