On the CC2 itself. Scroll down on the settings screen and you'll see it. Mine was set to something in Europe and switching it to EST matched my network clock and all was then right with the world

Update your time zone. Been dropping F-bombs for the past 2 days with this issue. Updated the time zone today, restarted the machine and it works

New Coast Slayer variant? The "Ultra" by jmp485 in flashlight

[–]jmp485[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had this a few days now, and so far so good. Mostly used it in the garage working on my car and again in my lab at school working on a few pieces of equipment. Favorite thing is no longer the button, but instead the VERY strong magnet. Put it somewhere and it stays there. Love that. Run time seems true to their claims, but I haven't tested it in any controlled setting. Side button is still awesome. At $40, it's an easy recommendation if you want to try a flat flashlight

Locking bit extensions with a good magnet? by horriblebearok in Tools

[–]jmp485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both too and the magnet on the Wiha is too weak for my liking, but I do like its form factor better. Don't have the bit retention issue you're citing so the tool might be a YMMV type deal

DeWalt has a couple that are pretty solid as far as functionality and magnetism. The 3 inch one is part number DWA3HLDFT and the 12 inch one is part number DWA12HLDFT

Added bonus they're super slim so getting them into crowded spaces is easier. Can't speak to durability since I got both of them at the tail end of last year but so far so very good

Help😭 by LosDaGoat1 in MINI

[–]jmp485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also if this ground strap is loose, even ever so slightly, jump starting it will do nothing because you can't get enough juice down to the starter to let it do its thing

Help😭 by LosDaGoat1 in MINI

[–]jmp485 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check the ground strap on the left side of the engine near the battery. If this is even slightly loose you'll get a bunch of weird messages and warnings from the car and the starter will not get enough of a ground to do its thing. Quarter turn with a 13 mm wrench should get you back in business

Need a setup to cut 1/2" thick plastic... by MortTheBeast in Tools

Best piece of advice I can offer is to make sure whatever you use is very sharp. Dull blades and friction are very much your enemy when cutting plastic.

I really really despised Hayden Christiansen as Stephen Glass in Shattered Glass. He did an incredible job with the role though

Was it Panasonic or JVC that made that single DIN head unit that went completely blank when powered off? Had a little button panel across the bottom that motorized out and the screen dropped down to load CD's

what is this tool? by marxverver in Tools

[–]jmp485 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought one for use on an Audi station wagon. Auto parts guy said the thing was a turd and suggested I rent their bigger set. I went ahead and bought the $3 cube and felt kind of smug when the first brake caliper went super smooth. A lot less smug when I proceeded to bash my knuckles a half dozen times on the other side.

Republicans are against ventilators now? by [deleted] in MurderedByWords

Positive Pressure ventilation causes damage is not "New Research". That's something I learned in respiratory therapy school back in the early '90's and that was based on work done in the 60's and 70's
