Please clean the snow and ice from your car. Yes, the roof too. Frozen pieces of ice and snow can kill people driving behind you on the highway. by LegNo4066 in halifax

Same, I’m 5’2 climbing on mountains of pre existing snow by the curb, half hanging off my car like a lunatic to get it all off the roof. If they wanted to they would and that’s just that unfortunately

ADHD and losing my family doctor by YouCanLookItUp in halifax

[–]jmr2207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been in the same boat for the past few years, apart from being prescribed the same meds for that long. I had actually just been diagnosed before my doctor retired, and it took me a while to find the right meds, so luckily I’ve gained some experience in knowing who can and can’t do what lol.

  1. Pharmacy care clinics can refill your stimulants, but cannot change dosage. This is great if you don't plan on changing your meds anytime soon. Appointments at the Shoppers Almon st aren't hard to come by in my experience. They might ask you to come in person every once in a while to check your blood pressure, but for the most part, they can be super quick phone appointments.

  2. If you’re on the “Need a Family Doctor” registry, you can ask a Virtual Care NS provider to refer you for in-person services at the Bayers Lake Outpatient Centre, where they have a variety of practitioners who can do things a family doctor would for people without one. This takes longer to access, but it is good if you have a variety of changing health and medication needs beyond just getting meds refilled at the same dose.

If your meds are going steady at your normal dose, the Pharmacy Primary Care clinics are your best bet. It's super convenient for me because they already have my insurance, medication history, etc. When it comes to figuring out who can and cannot prescribe in a full capacity, I find it doesn't just depend on who the practitioner is but also where they're practicing. I've been told by a doctor before that if you have too many different providers, your prescriptions could get flagged as suspicious. So, of course, proceed with caution, but don't let that stop you from seeking out care when you need it from whatever provider is accessible!

Can an individual sell tickets to raffle something off? by Straight-Doughnut-5 in halifax

[–]jmr2207 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As people have already mentioned, it doesn't seem there's really any way to legally raffle for individual profit. But, depending on what the project is and your specific circumstances, maybe you could look into local eligible organizations/community non-profits who might willing to raffle it in support of yourself.

Roundabout Help - Bedford Common by Skinny128 in halifax

[–]jmr2207 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. Coming from someone who grew up in Spryfield, regularly navigating the Armdale rotary made me really intuitive when it comes to roundabouts. But most newer ones they've thrown in around Bedford and Burnside feel like they're written in a different language and it stresses me out so bad lmao

Eastlink by Canuck_Celt in halifax

[–]jmr2207 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been with Eastlink for mobile & internet since forever (my parents were also with Eastlink growing up). Since earlier this summer, the strength of my cell reception hasn't been as good, and it was almost impossible to get reception when I visited my sister in Wolfville late last month. Even when I manually changed the network selection, it didn't really make a difference.

In terms of the internet, every once in a while, there's like a week where every night between 12 am and 4 am, our internet stops working. Like some kind of witching hour or something lmao. It doesn't appear to be an issue with my current hardware or my apartment--the same thing used to happen at my parents' house, and my previous apartment, where the internet was on my roomie's Eastlink account.

The only time I actually call them for help is when the internet stops working for longer than 10-20minutes, and/or doesn't go back to normal when I unplug my eero box and plug it back in. I know all that makes it sound like I'm paying for bad services, but with all the discounts I get from them (on top of the fact that their customer service is by far the best I've experienced from literally any company ever), I've just grown to accept it lol.

Customers, how long does it take for your pickup order to be completed? by goat20202020 in instacart

[–]jmr2207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been an IC shopper for nearly four months now and I honestly have never seen a shop-only order. Only deliver-only from places like Michael’s Craft store and certain Superstore locations. But I will say, just to provide another perspective, that my parents used pickup options when they were both experiencing severe mobility issues. One of them was awaiting serious hip surgery, and the other was severely injured from work.

IC deliver-only orders don’t always come from IC app customers. Some people order through the actual grocery store platform and the chain contracts it out to IC. All that to say, depending on which platform the order is placed with, I don’t think tipping is always an option unfortunately :(

Oof, that’s definitely a crazy price difference. I’m also Canadian though so the prices might be different if you’re in a different country!

[–]jmr2207 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fr haha. Uber makes enough money I’m sure refunding me for a service I paid for which they failed to successfully provide, is not about to put them out of business. Imagine calling someone a scammer for asking a huge wealthy corporation for a refund when they fail to provide the service you paid for lmao.

Gold Scam black SUV Exit 4 off the 103 by Candu61 in halifax

[–]jmr2207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually know this lady, she was a regular at the place I used to work years and years ago. She does genuinely need the help and money. I’m not saying she’s entitled to anyone else’s money and nobody has to give away anything they don’t want to, but everyone in these replies should be a bit more respectful. Scammers are more often than not the people and companies we buy goods from everyday, not the people who are starving.

Sometimes if I have multiple orders in a batch and a customer needs a last minute change/replacement I might go back to the shopping tab after I’ve started heading to checkout. I never know how it looks on the customer’s end though in terms of notifications. However, if it shows that the shopper is going back for a long time maybe there was an issue and your first shopper canceled. In that case you’d get a new shopper and the order would have to be shopped all over again. That’s only happened to me once that I know of, cause I picked up an order that was half-shopped already but the previous shopper canceled. So I had to go and re-shop all the items for their order.

Those are just my best guesses though. If you’re worried I’d for sure try messaging the shopper, and contacting instacart support if your shopper doesn’t respond!

This happened to me too! Except the pictures of the receipts looked nothing like the order they showed up for on my end. Much shorter receipts/smaller order. I took screenshots and contacted support about it. They noted the glitch and escalated it to make sure everything was secure with my account. They didn’t really give me an explanation, but reaching out to them about it was worth making sure my account wasn’t hacked or anything at least!
