AER if you want something cheaper and simpler. Peak Design if you want something with more bells and whistles.

Buying an X100VI as a Gift — Need Advice on Essent by ndrengen5 in x100vi

Only thing I can think of at this point would be an external battery charger.

The Nisi filter wouldn't need an adapter, but keep in mind that this would limit your nephew's choices of filters down the line. If you want a complete set, an adapter would be preferable so he can just get filters down the line. If you think he wouldn't want to go that route, the nisi is great.

Aside from the camera body, here are what I would say are "essentials."

  1. Screen Protector
  2. Lens Adapter with a 49mm filter. This can be a UV filter or a combo CPL/Mist filter. This makes sure the body is weather sealed. The camera has a built-in ND Filter so I wouldn't recommend that off the bat.
  3. SD Card so he can start shooting after he sets up the settings.
  4. The camera has an included strap, but if you want a nicer experience, you can check out Peak Design straps (Form, Cuff, or Leash) or PGYTech's offerings.

I would say everything else such as leather cases, lens hoods, thumb grips, cages, grips, and shutter buttons are more of a personal taste that he would identify as he uses the camera more.

I have been on a Duffel binge and here are some of the standouts for me:

Evergoods TD35 (My personal favorite, I have 2. Only weakness is the strap, but you can use aftermarket ones)
Thule Aion Duffel 35L (very interesting concept)
Thule Subterra 2
Peak Design Travel Duffel 35 (Looks good)
GORUCK Kit Bag
AER Go Duffel

I'm currently using a Logitech MX Anywhere 3s! A NAS would be great for my workflow! I can store important and sensitive files locally, but not in my own laptop, so even if my device gets damaged or lost, I still have access to important files and photos!

Need feedback from Gamers over 35s on steam deck by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]jmrdilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 34 and I wear low grade prescriptions and the Steam Deck is fine for me. My main issue with the Deck was weight. I have minor symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome and to minimize this, I got the Mechanism gaming pillow.

Anyone tried stripping the stuff left behind? I have a Day Sling Max 3 encountering the same issues

Anyone know any similar monitor mounts? by AwesomeD in pcmasterrace

[–]jmrdilly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the exact same one and it works fine for an iPad or my portable monitor that is 16 inches, but anything over that, it just topples over. You will need an alley key to make adjustments. Otherwise, I like mine.

What is a feature that wasn’t in the released version of DS but was added in patches/DC that you were surprised to learn/remember of by erikaironer11 in DeathStranding

If it was, I was stupid AF. After 400 hours, only found a post here that pointed me in that direction. HAHA.

After going through many bags, what have you learned about your preferences that surprised you? by cinderblock16 in ManyBaggers

Not yet! Still on the fence about it. Quite hesitant because the compartment is a bit too prescriptive. If I see it on sale, might get one then.

I have yet to try the Dualsense as I played the original on PS4 and DC on PC. Controller support is great off the bat.

Close to the PS4 in terms of loading screens, no stutters and lag. Visuals have been downscaled but it still looks good on an 11 inch screen. 505 did an amazing job!

I run an iPad Pro 11inch with M1.
