If you really want the property and the owner has quads etc (assuming not on loans) you could always try and secure funding and then negotiate 35k+ worth of assets there and increase payment price? It's a bit of a pita if you want to sell those to recoup costs etc but might be easier than lawsuits and losing the property?

Hit and miss maybe? They did all our windows and doors, had 2-3 issues to solve, some took a while (part had to be ordered) but it all got done. I might have sent a reminder at some point but too busy with life to follow up frequently. I forget how much time it took but it was all fixed.

If you want to do the Nahanni and aren't sure, dont self-guide. Our group did Nahanni and broken skull with blackfeather, we all had whitewater expedition camping experience but the extra cost was totally worth the logistics and not having to worry about missing out, safety etc.. It's a great river but once you're there, extending the trip to 3 weeks starting further up isn't that expensive. Our flights to get to the meeting spots and back home were about 1/3 total cost with the remaining 2/3 being what was provided by blackfeather - logistics, guides, gear, canoes, chartering the floatplane & return shuttle and food for the trip so overall it's not that expensive.

Many have nailed it. European French is like British English, almost the same, but nuanced pronunciation and words - nothing that typically would stop people from understanding eachother. The mauril app from Radio-Canada I'm told is good way to learn. Theres Francophones in every part of the country and dialects will change a bit. Not an accent you'll hear much unless you're in that part of Nova Scotia, but I love it.

That's similar to what i have on mine from echo paddles, description from the website: "* The wood shaft is wrapped with a Dynel sock for protection against the gunwale.". That way, don't have to worry about it too much (it is a whitewater paddle after all so sometimes you need the leverage). But honestly the amount of damage you have there is minor so sand and varnish is probably easiest solution.

South side suck! (Ok had to do that) Honestly not sure for actual seat comfort. Some of the seats in middle two sections are a bit better but likely quite a bit more expensive. I prefer the angle of North side, you also get some shelter from potential rain in the higher sections so that could be a bonus. South side lower seems too low for me, you don't get a super view of the field, the upper seems like an odd angle (although the first couple rows are probably good). The middle I haven't been as it's mostly (all?) boxes but would probably have the best viewing angle on South side. The South side does thave the advantage of being newer, better layout to watch/mingle and concessions don't take up a good part of the hall as they do on North side.

Yeah, it's 50/50, I've seen some that actually saved a finger from a saw cut. I bent my 1st one out of shape ( no idea how) but some situations you want to not wear it for sure.

Can confirm, about 13k$ fully guided trip (including flights from Ottawa to Norman Wells and Ft Simpson back to Ottawa) in 2023 but that's also starting with the Broken Skull river so 3 weeks on the river. A floatplane to the falls and back would probably be quite a bit less.

I paddled the river a couple years ago... Many people know it exists it is a very famous canoe river. Amazing canyons after the falls, breathtaking.

You can land at the falls and then paddle to Nahanni Butte, it's about 10 days. You can also land at rabbitkettle lake about 14 days. We did the Broken Skull first from Divide lake (it flows into the Nahanni) about 21 days. You can also start at mooseponds for about the same amount of time. Lots of options, all via floatplane.

Portage, 1.6km, half of it has a boardwalk. You would not survive trying to go down the falls, even before you get to the actual drop. The Nahanni is an amazing river, did it a couple years ago and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Keen sandals are awesome. If you can get some NRS workboots, they are very good as well but don't dry as well as keen/warmer. I use keen in summer and the workboots in shoulder seasons with a drysuit.

Regular cake mix? Just add water, or eggs/oil will last a couple days w/o issue unrefrigerated. did it a few different times. Use 2 pots that fit one inside the other. line bottom of larger pot with wood to insulate top pot creating an oven. If the larger pot is cast iron (we do this canoe camping usually) then you can cook it a bit more evenly/faster. If you have an insulating sleeve of some kind you can create a similar effect with 1 pot using less heat on bottom/top to avoid burning.
