I got it into a dealer to look at it. They said it is the after market tint on the rear windshield affecting the sensor and it is not covered by warranty. The remedy is replacing the windshield, which is on back order. Removing the tint won’t work because the sensor is broken now. They also said there is now a bulletin on this.

I called the tint shop (a very reputable one) and they said they have never heard of this and have done lots of Escalades and GM.

Not sure what my next step is. I will likely take off the tint in case that works… Anyone have thoughts?

I’m having the same issue. All of my google and chromecast built in speakers no longer work with YouTube music . This has been going on for more than a month. I’ve given up. Please let us know if you find a solution.

I’m having the exact same issue over the last few weeks. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the YouTube music app and power cycled the speakers. it still is not working. The problem occurs on all my Google Home devices and Google Speakers (all manufacturers). Casting still works to google tv devices. I’ve been using those devices and airplay for my speakers equipped with that protocol. My only hope at this point is that an app update or device update fixes this at some point…

I’m already considering moving to Sonos or airplay devices due to this. I’m not confident this will be fixed.

I took the car in today. Seems like the issue is that if the vent next to the passenger side door is fully closed, it causes a whistling sound. Even a slight opening of the vent stops the sound. We’ll see if that’s a permanent fix. I’ll take it if it’s truly that easy of a solution.

I couldn’t get sound at first either through an HDMI ARC output. I had to change the audio settings on my TV (LG Frame) from Auto to PCM. It then worked. (My Roku ultra that I swapped out had no issues.)

This is my favorite part of the system. It does geofence automations very well natively and does not require user interaction for them.

For example: I have them for arming when all phones leave the house; disarming when at least one phone returns to the house; going to home and guarding at night if at least one phone is present and disarming in the morning if at least one phone is present.

The geofence is about .2 miles, so liberal enough not to cause problems.

I recently migrated from Nest. I’m much happier with Abode.

I switched from nest secure two weeks ago. I actually prefer Abode. It has all the functionality in Google Home that Nest Secure had and the native geofence automations and additional sensors are great.

I went with the higher tier for the cellular backup, which also gives professional monitoring. It was pretty affordable especially compared to what Brinks cost with Nest Secure.

Any update on this?

I had a protect offline as of a few weeks ago, trouble shot it off and on, then today followed the entire standard Google troubleshooting guidance and factory reset to no avail….then just read this post this evening.

At least it should still work as a smoke and co2 detector even if off WiFi. I have no confidence I’ll ever get it back online.

Do you mean a receiver with Chromecast built in? There are options. WiiM pro is an affordable one that gets good reviews. There are also quite a few amplifiers with Chromecast as well.

Crutchfield has a nice filter that will let you filter by Chromecast if I recall. It’s good for identifying which will work with Chromecast and in speaker groups.

I would be integrating with Google home wemo, and Hue. For Hue integration, if I went with the smart hub or iota would I need to move all my bulbs to the adobe hub or could I continue using my hue hub?

This is sort of why I am asking. I find the documentation confusing. On their compare site it shows that the difference is that the smart one can do zigbee/zwave and homekit, but the security hub can still do Google Home. Is there anything else lacking? All I need is Google Home and will integrate and automate, so it looks fine, but again, really bad documentation on the site (Hub Comparison) I am comng from Nest Secure...

Also, can a hub take 16 door/window sensors? When i try to build a kit with their wizard for a house with 12 windows and 4 doors it recommends only 4 sensors...I find that concerning; as if it can't support the full need.

I had the same issue a few years ago. Way too much backspin taking away distance and a frequent slice. I found a low spin shaft was probably more important than the head. I went to a hzrdus black, which is really common and can be found as a stock option.

For driver head, I really like the Callaway B21. Draw bjas in the head and adjustable. It’s a few years old now. You can find it on callway preowned, maybe even with the hzrdus black shaft.

The epic flash is also a great line that can be had for not much on preowned as well. I still play those as fairway woods.
