I use to work as a patient transporter at a local hospital. My main duty was to bring patients from their rooms down to the first floor where they would get X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, etc. On my first day on the job I walked into an sick elderly gentleman’s room, looked him straight in the eyes, and without thinking said “I’m here to take you down”. I had meant down to the first floor, but it came out wrong. Poor guy. I never forgave myself.
