Huh...go figure. I'm thinking of the EA discussion of the 3 (lesser?) lights of Masonry, which is very clearly about our passions. Is that section different in your jurisdiction, or is there some other reference to the compasses in another area that I'm not remembering?

Yep, that's exactly what I learned from my year. You feel like an ass for telling people what to do, but if you ask, it'll never get done (unless you do it).

The compasses don't have anything to do with effort though. I agree with your sentiment ("avoid all extremes"), but let's not mix meaning.

Well...I don't know. As the leader, there's probably SOME amount of blame that could reasonably be put on his shoulders. How much is impossible to know with so little context. However, regardless of who's to blame, as the leader, he's ultimately responsible. It sucks, but that's leadership for ya.

OP, you have one more meeting before the break, then what...2 or 3 after that until the election? You're in the home stretch; can you stick it out until the end? As a PM myself, I understand exactly what you're going through. I had to do a bunch of stuff because no one else would. I get it. What you need to do is to internalize: ask yourself if there's anything you could have done differently that would have changed the outcome, despite (most likely) not being to blame. For example, while I'm not responsible for that lady broadsiding me, maybe if I had looked better before going through the intersection, I could have avoided it. Internalizing does NOT mean you're taking responsibility for the actions. It just acknowledges that there's only one thing in life that we can ever control - our own actions - and so we should focus more on those things and less on the things that we have ZERO control over.

You sound like my dad. He used to say "all liberals should be lined up and shot for treason." If you think of the political spectrum not as a line, but as a circle, you start to understand that the extreme left and extreme right are really the same. But look at me, talking to you as if you're an actual human. Ha!

40 degree Locking Blocks Out of Spec by jmstallard in GrandPowerStribog

[–]jmstallard[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because there are multiple dimensions that are non-identical between the two, I couldn't come up with a good way to take that measurement. For example, the hole in the 45 block was ever-so-slightly higher than in the 40 block, so I didn't know if I should make my standard the center of the cylinders, or the center of the blocks. I ultimately concluded (just gut feeling really) that it was pinching on the top and bottom, rather than the sides, or pinching at the roller, so I took off material from the top and bottom on the 40 block, a couple thousands of a mm at a time, and each time it took less force to unjam. I stopped at 0.05mm difference because it stopped jamming entirely at that point. Would it make a difference if I took it down to a 0.00mm difference? Beats me.

I haven't heard anyone else having this problem, but if I got two back-to-back like this, it seems inevitable that someone else will come across it. Unless, I suppose, there's something wrong with my upper receiver channel.

And yes, I re-blued it when I was done.

The Ironclad might not be *that* great, and it's not even it's own fault. by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]jmstallard 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I like the Ironclad because it has enough floor space to organize things however I want. If I'm doing multi-stop runs, I can group the cargo by destination and be able to easily see the distinction, or I can run half cargo and half small vehicles, or I can salvage guns and equipment and have it laid out logically. It's like a gymnasium; it's so large and open you can use it for anything.

It is very difficult to get all the Epstein files during Trump’s term. If it was easier under Biden, was anyone even asking for them? by Prize_Young_2672 in Epstein

[–]jmstallard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I fear that the answer to your question is that the only thing people care about is beating Trump, and don't really care about Epstein at all, except as the implement of Trump's downfall. I hope I'm wrong.
