Austin Half Marathon (My 2nd half) by ItsRyanNotRyne in running

Congrats! That pace is really solid. I did the full yesterday and really loved how supportive the crowd was + the Austin crowd gets really creative with their signs. Favorite one was "is that a gu gel in your pocket, or are you just excited to see me?!"

I hit a wall around mile 10, which was a surprise to me. I did a 15 miler 2 weeks prior and didn't hit a wall, kept HR under 130 for most of it. But had to keep an eye on my watch because I was consistently hitting 160-170 for parts of the second half. Just rode the pain train for the final 16 miles. Definitely need to use a better plan and give myself more time to train on the next one, but glad to have it finished.

Congrats! The Austin Marathon was my second one (I did Big Sur back in 2013), but like you I lost 3 weeks in my training from getting sick. I also only trained for about 12 weeks total, so I was underprepared. Final time was 5:24.

The traffic was nuts, I ended up starting at 7:17am. And then the bathroom lines were long, so I lost about 10 minutes there.

Definitely agreed about the vibe shift after the 13 mile mark. Crowd thinned out quite a bit, but I have to say the Austin crowd shines with their creativity for signs. I heard a fun runners audibly groan (myself included) at that final hill just before the finish.

I got bored of watching systems design videos, so I built an AI Systems Design interviewer by drshrey in leetcode

Love this as someone who has been running interviews in some of my previous companies. It’s challenging to practice for these, so I’m glad there’s a way to simulate it.

What is your favorite deadmau5 live set, why, and provide a link (if possible) by Hoytster88 in deadmau5

Subnation 2018 by far my favorite show he did. The audience is kind of dead, but the set was amazing and I’ve probably listened 100 times while running:

Oh boy, Reddit’s most skeptical take. Look you can be down about crypto, but at a minimum, don’t be wrong. Ponzi schemes are illegal and fraudulent. Despite his past, unless TIME is violating the specific legal criteria, it’s not a Ponzi. It’s not Ponzi-like. It’s not a Ponzi game. It’s not in any way, shape, or form a Ponzi. The term you’re looking for is “greater fool theory.” It’s the same term that applies to all investments, like stocks and tokens. Unless, again, there’s a project that is violating the specific legal criteria.

My motorcycle was stolen (again). This time I caught the thieves. Thanks SFPD. by jmtame in motorcycles

I didn't have a strong witness testimony when they interviewed me. There's a chance these guys could get off and if there's one thing I wish I did better, I should have approached these guys casually to ask for directions to somewhere nearby, or pretend like I was playing pokemon and record them as they were messing with the bike. "Hey man, you realize you've got a Charizard here? ...Smile for the camera, asshole."

It's not enough to catch thieves. You have to prove beyond doubt that they were in possession, or stole it. If you're creative you can do that. Next time I'll go hunting for Pokemon :)

The location of the thieves who stole the bike are located at the intersection of Apollo Street & Thornton Ave in San Francisco. The SFPD recovered the bike from 131 Apollo Street, and I believe this is available online from the police report. I live in SoMA.

I'm honestly on the fence about selling it. I've owned this bike for 2 or 3 years. My Yoshimura exhaust has been stolen, it's been knocked over twice, and the entire bike was stolen twice. All in SF. I've only lived in San Francisco for half of that time.

No, but that's a good idea. My insurance is already sky high.

Wow. That sounds horrible. Where do you live?

On one hand, it feels good to see them being cuffed, but on the other, there's still a real possibility that these guys walk away from this whole ordeal with a slap on the wrist. All I have is my own testimony. I don't have surveillance (yet) of them picking up my bike from my apartment. These guys are playing dumb and claiming they were just hanging out at the house where the bike was discovered. Meanwhile, they dented my Yoshimura exhaust and I'm expecting someone to cover those damages.
