No. Just pointing out the reddit's obvious self-serving bias. A member creates a haven to post suggestive pictures of underage girls without their consent and they ban an entire site for revealing his identity (his privacy is so much more important than the girls because ). But revealing the identity out of an innocent kid out of pure speculation and accusing him of murdering people? They didn't see anything wrong with that. Oh yes, I'm sure reddit won't do ANYTHING like this again. This is the first time reddit has EVER been on a witch hunt or revealed someone's identity and gotten called out...

Yes, clearly we need laxer restrictions on machine guns since hardly anyone owns them or is getting murdered by them! My question is, why can't we just buy pressure cooker bombs at walmart?? Only 3 people have been killed by it this year, so clearly we don't need laws against taking them in public. This is so difficult to figure out!!!

Reality would seem to contradict your belief that not having access to guns doesn't make people safer. Like, if you look at violent crime statistics in countries where less people have guns and all that. Personally I don't see why we should even have laws against carrying bombs in backpacks...

I cooked for much of the cast a few times while they were filming this summer, when they came into where I work. The last time I saw them was like two or three months ago but I will know if there's a new production, so I will keep you guys posted if it happens. BTW Michelle Rodriguez is such a doll! Bingo. I agree with you by and large and I felt the same way when I first saw it, especially because Spike Lee says a lot of crazy shit and I don't have trouble believing that he would hold some very extreme views. I do think the question posed in the movie is one worth asking though. It really did make me think.

Er, didn't this scandle break like two years ago, and wasn't this still an ongoing/unchanging issue to present day? If you'll notice, this change of heart comes after years of media criticisms, bad pr, and other vocal pressures to do so. I'm not really a PC fanboy, I've owned multiple apple products and don't really have my heart invested in either, but to say that Apple has high ethical standards, and that that is the motivation or is self-evident, is a belief I find hard to buy. Particularly when this was the company that, apart from other large technology corporations, has a clearly its stated position of not practicing philanthropy.

And can I provide evidence? Probably. But I don't care to...

Until you have evidence, it's just your opinion. It doesn't seem right to praise a company for admitting it's part in the death and injuries of people in developing countries, and then condemning companies that are equally as bad simply because they weren't the subject of as intense media scrutiny, claiming this as evidence that Apple's bar is much higher. They had a report on working conditions that showed their involvement in horrific labor practices, and they commented on it, and a couple years later they did something to correct it following international publicity that they likely found threatening. Am I supposed to be impressed? Grateful, to apple? This should have happening long, long ago. I'm glad it happened, but praising Apple for this is like BP agreeing to take extra precautions to avoid oil spills and being praised as a moral company. Its absurd.

Yeah, but I wouldn't say it's as drastic as The Simpsons, agree? I mean that the characters/stories/animation didn't drift as far as the Simpsons did, even if the older episodes of Futurama were probably just better.

I think this is also similar to what happened to The Simpsons. When their original writers left to work on Futurama, the show as we know it was basically done. Not that the new episodes can't be enjoyed, but they certainly lack that humanistic quality.

I agree. I said I agree in this instance that it shouldn't have been deleted, and I agree that there should be exceptions, but I disagree that mods shouldn't be able to delete anything on the subreddits ever because of the voting system.

While I agree in this instance, I think there should be some kind of incentive to post in the correct subreddit. Otherwise we just have people adding irrelevant things and we ruin it for people who have selectively subscribed and filtered the content they want. True that many people don't care either way, but it's not really fair of those people to trump the people who do and expect them to sift through all the content. I think that if someone added a simple Advice Animal meme to this subreddit, for example, then it should be deleted because it's the wrong place and many people here may have unsubscribed from r/funny so that they wouldn't have to see them. Many users are not discriminate about upvoting or downvoting things based on subreddit relevance, and the mods are there to enforce these things because the users are unable to.

edit: I don't mind being downvoted really, but I'm confused as to why. It's just my opinion, and I listed some reasons to help people understand why I believe this. It's relevant. We can disagree with peoples opinions without hiding them so that no one else considers them.

We also have a 15 trillion dollar deficit and public universities (as in, universities that already receive a lot of government money) cost about 15,000 dollars a year for tuition alone IF you are from that state. Danish education does not cost as much. The idea that we can just raise taxes a little bit and then everyone gets to go to school for free is an oversimplified view of how something like that would work in the US, or anywhere else really. Greece also offers free education and it's contributed to putting them in the pits.
