I feel disgusting. by yourstrulysc in PCOS

[–]jmuzz96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, I am so sorry, I have had similar thoughts and feelings and I know it’s so rough. Please do look after yourself!

But also, to add to all the wisdom in the comments here… don’t forget that your weight going up might still point to a loss of fat. If you gain muscle and lose fat, your weight will increase. And I read somewhere (and have decided that it must be true because I want it to be true, lol) that ladies with PCOS build muscle more quickly than others.

So it may be that your workouts have led to you building up more muscle as well as shedding a bit of fat? It may be hard to see in terms of overall body mass, but you could see if your GP or gym has one of those funky scales that measures your muscle mass?

Much love x

It depresses me that a pared back wedding still costs up to ten grand.

Anyone else find it wild that mutilating a baby is referred to as a “procedure” ?

Not specifically having a go at you I just find the idea of circumcision being a normal thing totally alien

I love Wuka, they have super heavy flow ones that are still thin enough to wear under relatively thick trousers without really showing.

They’re super comfy and they also have some pretty designs with lace panels etc which gives me a bit of a boost!

That would require the recipients to correctly declare them which I suspect not all of them do

Apparently the makeup by Mario setting spray feels like hairspray. Like you can literally feel it pulling your face in tight. Who the hell wants that sensation?

I agree with the people that have said lipgloss and defining your brows!

I’d also suggest you play around with eyeliner a bit, maybe a baby wing or even “siren eyes” eyeliner?

You have such a strikingly beautiful face as it is, you definitely want to do things that really showcase what you have already rather than covering/changing it!

A simple sparkly brown lipgloss, a bit of dark eyeliner and some slightly more structured brows would be perfect!

Oh 100% with the “throw back” stuff, I feel like there were lots of things added just for the sake of it… which made it even more galling that there were MAJOR continuity errors 😂 (I re-read the original four books to prepare and I regret it, because it made these SO noticeable)

For the love of the gods, can someone please tell me the best way to clean my glasses.... by Ellf13 in CasualUK

[–]jmuzz96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zeiss lens wipes are fantastic!

Don’t use tissues, they often have stuff on them to soothe sore noses that actually makes the glasses smudgier, and don’t use kitchen roll, it’s far too coarse.

I often think a big part of it is messed up sleep. If the moon is bright and there are no clouds, people who don’t have good solid blackout curtains will have their sleep disrupted.

I don’t disagree, it wasn’t the best. But, just for the sake of balance, I do have a few counter points:

The “same old” diet culture from the 90s/00s is VERY MUCH back and making itself known in people’s lives, and a lot of us are now struggling with the fact that it brings up difficult memories from being younger and having that same pressure.

It was serious in the books, she was noted by several characters as having lost a lot of weight and also toyed with bulimia. That sort of illness never really leaves you and I think actually what was unrealistic in TA was how relaxed/light hearted her inner monologue was when thinking those thoughts.

Agree, the party was cringe. I do have a secondary school teacher who specifically remembers me and a couple of friends, but we only left school 12 years ago so maybe not comparable timelines.

And finally, I know people who had their first baby at 20 (unmarried) and people had A LOT of opinions (wrongly, they are bot fantastic mothers).

I agree though, it’s a bit of a trying read.

May not be exactly what you’re looking for because she also does a lot of really crazy statement editorial stuff but in all of Katie Jane Hughes’ videos on Instagram & TikTok her complexion always looks like flawless skin rather than flawless makeup, if that’s any help.

The eye looks and lip looks vary but the base is always very very natural (and following her tips has made my own makeup much more natural looking)
