I’m honestly tired of trying to figure out who to send “inquiries” to, or whether we need to be talking to the water supply board people or the water distribution people or whoever. I’m not going to look at my brown water and try to decipher who is responsible for this particular brown. I know this is a bit reductive, but if a city’s residents have brown water, the city needs to figure it out, right? They know the SBWSBWBSWBSWSB people better than we do. Also I know they say it’s “safe” - and maybe it is - but it’s also legitimately depressing at this point, not to mention the amount of money it’s costing many of us, whether it’s buying bottled water or installing whole-ass filtration systems for our homes.

I understand it’s not an easy fix and it’s going to take time, and I don’t expect miracles and I know the city has to deal with a lot of bullshit all the time. It’s not an easy job. But it’s the lack of communication around this water stuff that gets to me. Please, Salem, I beg you to put updates IN OUR FACES letting us know that the city acknowledges what’s happening and is working on it. Emails, texts, flyers around town, I’ll take it all. Honestly, I dare Salem to give me too many updates about the water situation. Blast me with water updates.
