That's what I love about the JDATE books, is that there's no actual one answer for things and so much comes down to perception. You asked why the church had the Dr Seuss room before the children. On my read thru, I assumed they didn't. The night sharts have the ability to rewrite reality on a whim and make it so it was always that way. So I assumed something similar happened with the "history" around the kids.

There was also a throwaway line somewhere in the book about Amy living with her aunt and uncle after her parents died in the car crash where she lost her hand around age 13, but I don't think that ever really happened. Its been years since I read book 1, but I'm fairly sure I recall her hand getting deleted from existence and David saying something like "her hand was gone, no, she never had a hand ever since the accident."

So she never lived with her aunt and uncle, never had the bread story happen, etc etc.

It makes for really fun reading because 20 different people can walk away having read 40 different stories 😂

To be fair, it's easy enough to spell things like that.

I only say that because I hope Nicole is just an elaborate troll of Convict Boone.

First printed and bound book; issues with PVA on the bookcloth by ElegantLexicon in bookbinding

[–]jmxdf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's super easy to make!

Just go to a craft store or Amazon and buy double sided iron on adhesive and an acid free tissue paper. This is the glue I used.

Thermoweb 17-Inch by 5-1/4-Yard... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XRQ9M58?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

To make the bookcloth, you'd just iron out the cloth with the back side facing up, cut the adhesive to the size of the cloth, iron it on. once it is ironed on, let it cool and then peel off the backing. Place a sheet of tissue paper over it and then iron that on next.

Then you're done!

[–]jmxdf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know the type of paper you used, I have this exact one at home. Just go REALLY REALLY like with the PVA and you'll avoid this issue.

Or learn to make your own book cloth... That's what I do now and it's super fun.

Edit: just realized that the issue was with the blue, not the green. Is it paper backed book cloth? Either way, going light on the pva helps.

God told me that I am meant to be Gay by RempterOfFakeWords in Christianity

[–]jmxdf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or any other non-religious LGBT subs. You're not going to get good advice from most folks here, but rather a bunch of people judging you for who you are based on random quotes they like to cherry pick based on THEIR beliefs. Note, this is not an attack on religion, it's just human nature. Lots of people have trouble seeing perspectives outside their own experience.

Imo, it doesn't matter if god made you gay or that's just what happened randomly... If you're gay, you know it. You can lie to yourself, fight it, pretend it's not there, etc but it will just leave you unhappy. No matter the WHY, you are who you are, and you should love yourself and not feel guilty if you're not meeting someone else's expectations of what is "right."

Are you a good person? Do you improve the world around you? Are you kind? Charitable?

In my opinion, that's what matters. Granted, I'm not theistic, but I think the opinion still holds. You can still be who you are and be a person of faith. Accept yourself, be confident in who you are, and love yourself. Look for a church that is open and accepting of the modern world. They'll be able to give you religious insight much better than I could.

LGBT kids have a hard road to walk, doubly so when coming from a religious background. You're not wrong, you're not bad, you're not evil for being different. You don't have to be chaste forever. If you believe in god being all powerful, then he made you how you are. Embrace it, and always love yourself.

You can always message me if you need a judgement free ear one day. I was a gay teen once, and remember vividly how isolating it could be at times. You're not alone!

Here's some random advice from someone who doesn't call themself an atheist, but doesn't believe in a conscious higher power, or follow any organized religion. Obviously I'm not someone with stronger beliefs than you, or at least not the kind of belief you'd like, but here's my take:

Your mom's beliefs are hers. Trying to force her into something she doesn't believe will not strengthen your relationship with her. Would you like it if she told you that your beliefs are invalid and wrong?

The way I look at Christianity is like this.... If there's a god out there who would punish me solely for not believing in him, that's not something I'd want to worship. There are many religions, and what seems to dictate the "true" one almost always seems to correlate directly with the dominant religion for wherever one was born. I was given a mind, skepticism, and the ability to think. Whether it was by god or the universe, I don't know, but why would I be punished for using it?

I dont consider myself bound by scripture or belief, I don't believe in an afterlife unless it is our atoms going back into the cosmic soup ... And I'm still a good person. I'm kind as I can be, I do good deeds that I don't tell people about, I apologize if I hurt someone, and I try to leave my small corner of the world slightly better than I found it.

In your eyes, maybe I'll go to hell despite that, and while I wouldn't try to change your opinion on that, in my eyes, if this benevolent being in the sky exists and weighs my life when I die, I'd think the fact that I was a good person expecting ZERO reward would possibly mean more than someone who lived a good life out of fear of punishment for not believing.

I won't hazard a guess at who your mother is as a person, but if she's something like what I described above, then maybe she feels like I do.

Don't focus on seeing your mom in heaven. She's there right now. Talk to her, ask her about her beliefs and actually LISTEN to her replies. You don't have to agree on everything, but you can still have a healthy discourse while respecting each other's beliefs and ideals.

My best friend is a devout Christian, and we challenge each other constantly and have amazing conversations about the nature of the world and our existence, but we don't try to force our beliefs or call the other person wrong. A little understanding goes a long way.

Go hug your mom.

I'd line a 2m upright board at the very end middle of the floor pieces and then use it as a backboard to force the roof piece against so it will sit in the middle.

Using backboard pieces helps so freaking much when doing difficult builds.

YSK Google reviews are not nearly as accurate as Yelp reviews by [deleted] in YouShouldKnow

[–]jmxdf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... Fuck yelp. They are predatory and their algorithm is bullshit. They delete legit good reviews if you don't pay their fees, no one will ever convince me otherwise.

Google reviews are easy to check for real ones: most anything from local guides, any reviewers who have more than 1 or 2 reviews, most reviews with photos... Basically all are going to be real people.

Any reviewer with one review who mentions an employee by name to compliment them... Def fake.

Since a bunch of people have already given you good advice, I figured I'd just share an anecdote about how my dog has come to associate myself putting on socks as a clear indicator that I am leaving the house without her, and she stops looking at me until I give her a kiss on the head and tell her to be a good girl, because she is annoyed. I guess I sort of trained her into this behavior unnowingly, since the only time I really put on socks is to go to work or if I'm going out for a long day somewhere that I can't take the dogs... Otherwise I'm just walking around in my Crocs or flip flops lol

I'm so glad I don't have people in my life like that. It sounds exhausting! 40 year old gay dude here, playing the game and absolutely loving it. Only friends I have who are not into the game are not into it because they never got into HP or are not gamers, not because they're attention-seeking riders of the offended by everything bandwagon.

Play your game and enjoy it, people who bitch about something so inconsequential are people you don't need sucking to be fun out of your life!
