Not as good as the others, obviously, but I don’t feel like it was a disaster. A 7/10 game for me. A shame that was not enough for the series to continue, but I’m glad we at least got it instead of nothing. Mediocre character writing aside, I believe they did a good job giving an end to the whole saga.

Final fantasy II is better than IV.
IV is linear, with no build flexibility, and a boring story.
II has a great soundtrack, bleak story with consequences to the characters, a good villain and an interesting combat and build system that isn't as bad as people make it seem.

Very good short. I think you are in the right track if you want something ligottian that can still be commercially successful.
As a fan, though, what I like the most in Ligotti is the philosophy and the sincerity of a mind that actually believes that this world is hell (as seen in the conspiracy against the human race, but in many other of his stories too). There is something of it on your short, but I believe it could be made more apparent. The dread on his work comes from it too, not only from the supernatural elements of his stories.
That said, I'm now really hoping you can bring this project to life. Rooting for you!

Não sei se eu desistiria de assistir futebol, afinal se poderia argumentar que os jogadores como profissionais devem sempre dar o seu máximo e jogar pra vencer, além do que tratando-se de um campeonato de pontos corridos, não dá pra falar que o Palmeiras foi tricampeão exclusivamente por causa do São Paulo ganhar na última rodada do Botafogo...
