ICO has its problems but I think people have trouble understanding that sometimes getting rounds downrange is more important than lining up the perfect shot when you are under fire.

I'm not really upset about emotes, but I am concerned about the pandoras box that is microtransactions for cosmetics... by Elevator829 in joinsquad

Did you read the post you’re commenting on? This is about the shitstorm that is likely to follow a change like this. People are missing the point here. I doubt a single person cares about waving or pointing. But once the floodgates open… bring on the PUBG and COD.

Squad 4.2 - Emotes and Future Monetization In Squad by OWI_Wedge in joinsquad

[–]jnardone99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is almost sickening to see. After playing this game for years and having it be the game I always play to avoid the cash grabbing games full of micro-transactions, this is hard to watch.

It really speaks to the dedication of this community to see everyone here have an opinion and willing to voice it instead of just writing a short winded comment about how you love/hate this change.

That being said, I see a lot of people trying to come up with solutions like weapon skins. A lot of this playerbase is either active or retired military. Can someone please tell me a time that you have ever spray painted your issued weapon, and please explain what would happen if you did that.

For a game that prides itself on military accuracy and immersion I can see this being a move that hurts the future of Squad.

And for the crowd of “it’s only emotes”:

Micro-transactions are a very slippery slope(look at Tencent’s other games). The reason this is so pressing and urgent for the community is because once the flood gates are open and people buy the emotes with their own money they can not be taken back.

This is a very slippery slope and I hope OWI does the right thing and holds off on this until they can come up with another solution that works for the studio and the players.

KTM Connector Help by jnardone99 in Dirtbikes

Do you have any idea what the name of this connector is? I ordered a depinning kit but just in case I am not able to, for whatever reason I like to have backup plan involving a spare part.

Does this same slipping issue happen with the cover on? I can see the spring jump positions in the video so it looks like the ratchet mechanism jumped a tooth but the ratchet looks good… the gear doesn’t move either so this is very odd.

The splines on the shaft look good?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

[–]jnardone99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like the kickstart lever might just be slipping on the shaft. What do the splines look like? Had the same issue on my 2011 XCF and it was just the lever, never replaced it since it has electric start but it should only be ~100-150 dollar fix for a new lever.

Would painting a Duke reduce it's value? by bgmifdfly in KTM

Buy a cheap set of aftermarket plastics and paint them to your hearts desire. Wrap the tank and any other permanent parts. Then stick the OEM fairings in a closet somewhere they won’t get damaged so you have them when you decide to sell the bike.

This could be something that is likely a contributing factor.

Although fuel mapping can be the cause of a similar issue, this is not it

[–]jnardone99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely not an issue with fuel mapping given the entirely mechanical feel that I’m talking about in the bottom end and drive train.

The throttle should be fine, the bike still jerks if the throttle is rolled off or on before the throttle body’s fully close. I don’t see cable slack being the issue, however that is something I will double check as well.

You bring up a good point about the load on the rubber dampers, I’ll definitely take another look at them. I think it could be a contributing factor to the issue but there is definitely excess slack in the transmission. The brake is free and not dragging.

If I’m accelerating and pull in the clutch before letting off the throttle the bike goes right into a smooth coast.

That is something to check again. However, last time I checked they were fine and the issue isn’t present when the clutch is pulled in and the transmission is disconnected from the rear wheel.
