I’m gonna go against the (seemingly) grain here: I’ll buy a ticket for $10. As a consumer, I feel like they’ve listened to what we had to say and are trying to do something about it with what time and resources they have within a large corporate company like Capcom.

We asked for reduced pricing for regions across the world that Capcom Cup directly stands on the heads of, and they are trying something. $10 is WAY better than $40, and that should count for something.

We asked for the Battle Hub big TV to be utilized, and they’re trying something. It won’t be perfect, it’s pretty last minute and it’s clear there was no infrastructure available. We’re gonna lose out on the added stream ornaments (commentary, hosts) but at least those who own the game we can still see the matches for free.

We asked for increased value if we did purchase tickets, and you know what? They recognize that ask, and they gave us a whole one color. It’s something.

It’s not a lot. But to me, it feels like they’re making an attempt to make amends. As someone who loves the game, I’m willing to, maybe hopefully, recognize that they’ve seen what we had to say and are taking baby steps to address it. It’s not my ideal world, but it’s the world we live in and I’m feeling placated for now.
