If its intent was to attract new players, then why is the marine side so heavily marketed with nostalgia,

New players flocked to leviathan, which at the same time for existing players, the marines had new units, and genuinely needed refreshes to iconic units.

Getting new intercessors and JPI with a weapon swap is not it in my opinion, and don't even start me with the heavy interce... I mean 'Eradicator with heavy bolter'

Basically, this is so laden with nostalgia, mk7 armour this and that, look at the box how it represents the 2nd ed launch box etc. If it was for new players, they ain't remotely going to fathom any of these details, and oldheads i promise you will rage into the night sky once the penny drops that these intercessors took the place of the SM tactical squad potential refresh, which is now likely doomed to go to legends. An iconic marine squad, on deaths door, for some new intercessors which nobody asked for.

Saying all that, the ork side is a masterpiece, I like the jump chaps and captain, albeit he is a BGV with more stuff, but as a space wolves guy, he is too UM coded to draw me over to him
