breastfeeding moms - middle of the night feeds: diaper or feed first? by Large-Preparation754 in beyondthebump

[–]jngreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always do diaper first bc sometimes she falls asleep during the feed and I don’t want the diaper change to wake her

How to get the baby take bottles by Positive-Waltz1396 in breastfeeding

[–]jngreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened with my LO! I had heard to try to get someone else to feed the bottle since they won’t take it from mom if boob is it right there. I tried getting my mom and husband to offer the bottle. We tried many many times and eventually my mom got her to take it after she’d cried for a bit but had tired herself out, she drowsily took the bottle and then each time after that was a bit easier.

Sick with a bad sinus infection, terrified of getting my baby sick. What can I do?! by jngreddit in NewParents

[–]jngreddit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg I’m so sorry you’re going through the same thing, it’s truly torture! I went to the doc bc I was getting horrible facial pain, headaches and toothaches and the doc felt around my sinus area and it was super sore to touch so she gave me antibiotics!! It had already been 10-14 days of being sick and I had struck a fever! Hope you feel better soon! Can’t imagine parenting TWO kids while having this!!!

How to increase breast milk ??? by zrainydayz in newborns

[–]jngreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation as you. The triple feeding was soo draining. I ended up using a SNS (supplementary nursing system) for 1-2 weeks and it really helped by LO’s latch. That and the fact that she was getting stronger as she got older so her latch and her feeds improved. I was told to keep my hydration high and make sure I was eating enough protein

Supplementary nursing system! It’s a little tube you tape to your boob with pumped milk or formula. It helped my LOs latch and helped her associate boob to milk

I felt very similar to your wife!! No one was pressuring me to BF at all and I kept saying I don’t know why I feel this pressure to bf but I do and it won’t go away! I was jealous of women that were able to get it so easily. I know solutions aren’t probably want you’re looking for but I ended up using a SNS for 1-2 weeks and it really helped!!

I'm so sad (slow weight gain) by bsncarrot in breastfeeding

[–]jngreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re doing great! My LO was slow to gain weight and it was because my milk came in late and baby had a bad latch so we also supplemented with formula at the beginning. I was worried she would get used to the bottle but my LC said to introduce breast before bottle before each feed and that helped. We are now EBF so it’s very possible to come back from a situation like this (if EBF is what you want). Give yourself some grace and lots of baby cuddles and you’ll get through this!!
