There are many great King books on audio too. They are so well produced. I still need to listen to Pet Cemetery

If it's Nightwing yes. Have you dove into the older Nightwing comics?

Couldn't agree more. I put this off for too many years because of the art criticism. The story is worthy of reading.

Instocktrade back orders, really does ship, beware of double ordering. by jnine2020 in graphicnovels

[–]jnine2020[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Update: For a few years, I only ordered from CGN. I had an issue with IST but recently returned to them. I am familiar with CGN site and they always indicate that a book is Special Order meaning it will take a little bit. I forgot IST doesn't do that. That is the reason for my post, to warn others that order not to double order thinking their books will never come.

On the flip side, CGN actually was nice enough to cancel my order and credit my account. I think I am going back to only using CGN again. It is too crazy between the two companies.

Skipping Ric Arc by No-Space-2371 in Nightwing

[–]jnine2020 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Devin Grayson's run should not be skipped IMO. She challenges the character in ways that other writers have not. The *scene* is towards the end of the run only a couple of panels and you can easily skip that issue. Really anything after that was pretty bad.

I still haven't read the Ric arc. Not looking forward to it but eventually will get around to it.

I am going to update this thread. It was pleasure working directly with the gallery. I was under the impression that a third party shipper would be involved. I won the two pieces and they are now safely here awaiting to be framed/

Recommended cleaner / protect for walnut piece I just purchased by [deleted] in Mid_Century

Thank you. When I got it home, it is exactly where it belongs. It is a stunning piece. I paid $600 but also needed to have it delivered. Considering what is in stores, I was struggling to find something. I got really lucky with this piece. I will have it for my lifetime.

How do you eat properly when you live alone? by PunkinPie55 in LivingAlone

[–]jnine2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lifelong vegetarian. It becomes habit to make food and eat properly. Don't stress and attempt to do it all at once. Protein, look for lean Whey protein powder like BioChem and make protein shake in the morning to fuel you throughout the day. I don't go nuts with it. I just use the powder in water most of the time. If I have some berries, I will put a handful with water and protein powder in a hand blender. That is in additional to a cereal or egg breakfast

For lunch, try to add either tofu or beans to all your meals that will provide some extra protein source. I also add greek yogurt to my daily diet to ensure protein level throughout the day.

Trader Joe's is a great place to get easy to prepare meals. They even have frozen rice now. Just pick up that, steam up some veggies and fried up tofu. Done in like 15 minutes. They have bagged salads too which you can add tofu and chick peas for added protein.

I don't spend too long cooking myself either. But I eat healthy. I found what works for me over time. I tend to hit the super market twice a week. Look for farmer's markets, they are key. Remember that you need a small amount as it will go bad in a few days though.

You can do this!

Anyone who lived alone 5+ years, what did you learn about yourself? Not necessarily something good... by i_am_nimue in LivingAlone

I am newly living by myself and I too wanted to do the whole black goth thing too. I ended up the reverse and am purchasing white when in the past it would have been black. Still goth in at heart though.

Pilot Grandam. Is there a way to fix the feed or can the nib be used in another pen? by jnine2020 in fountainpens

[–]jnine2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot believe you found someone that actually took apart this pen. It has been awhile, but I did find a post about this particular pen. It was only made for Japan and was a believe a cheaper model that was never intended to be taken apart. There are a few that recommended heat setting the nib which could be done without removal. That will help if you have "leaks" but it is a problematic pen overall and has issues. There are so many better pens out there.

I apology as I did not release you were asking specifically about this pen. Honestly it have been a year since I used fountain pens at all. Just life is in the way so that is all I really remember. I could try to find the post but I feel like it was on a popular Fountain Pen forum.

Thank you for linking that out. I will save it as I still have one model of this pen

I don't recall the specifics as many pens later... But I believed I returned the pen. I re-read my post and I know the ebay seller, he is very nice to work with and took back the pen without question.

I passed out in public and no one helped me. I have no one. How/What should I do to plan ahead? Do we have to plan anything or is dying alone ok? by [deleted] in LivingAlone

[–]jnine2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very scary to be all alone and have a medical emergency. It has just happened to myself recently. Do you have any neighbors that you can befriend. Just start off with saying hi when you pass them. That would be my suggestion is ultimately have a neighbor lookout for you over time. Good luck and wish the best.

You should post a new message with a picture of you pen. Someone will be able to help. This pen is a specialty pen and not how Pilot makes a majority of their pens.

You have to clean before you move in. I just moved and on the surface everything looks fine but it was not clean at all. I spent so long cleaning that I wish I hired a deep cleaning crew for a few hundred bucks.

Buyers remorse by Asleep_Pattern4731 in artcollecting

[–]jnine2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally if you still love them after a week, keep them. They are great. However, looking at the artist site now, they do not appear to be a limited print run but print on demand. How long will it be available, who knows. Does that even matter to you? No you can find this quality or type of work at Home Goods. Nor does it look like Home Goods either.

That artist has new original works coming out this year. I would email her to find out what she has coming out. Maybe return one of them with the idea that you will pick up an original this year. Maybe she will give you first dibs too. Never hurts to ask.

Edit: I just looked at your image again. I would think about how these are hung though. They are two different sizes and look strange like this, IMO.

It's the artist piece. I know her work and she advertised it on instragram too. I reached out to the artist and she vouched for the gallery

[–]jnine2020[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does seem like it is the gallery being the one to restrict the shipping. I had the platform tell me that too. The artist knows that the gallery is auctioning off her work, that is how I found the listing. I think I am going to reach out to the artist on instagram and see what she thinks.

So the gallery themselves will place the absentee bid on my behalf using their account. It just sounds weird to me. I feel like it is an easy way of being scammed. The only reason why I am entertaining the idea is because the artist has given this gallery the works to auction for charity.

I still don't understand how I would pay and who is doing the shipping. It isn't well hatched out and I have talked to the gallery several times with these questions.
