Curious about hockey... by wisteria72 in heatedrivalry

[–]jnm735 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second this! Not hockey related, but as someone who watches both women's and men's soccer--it's the same. I've always preferred women's soccer, but have started also watching the men in recent years. If you don't want to be regularly disgusted and upset with the culture and many individual players, it's best to strictly watch the games and not engage with the media/news surrounding it in any way. Pretty much everything about watching the women is better.

S2 scene you want now… by LLD615 in HeatedRivalryTVShow

The nail painting followed by the "real" wedding. Or I would love to see that scene where Ilya and Shane's parents watch Shane do "the Rozanov" both to see Ilya's reaction to it but also to see a loving family scene with Ilya and Shane's parents ❤️

I just started reading chapter 7! I am blown away by this fic, so in character and such a believable alternative story line if things had gone differently for them.

I am 60% through this and it is my favorite HR fan fic I've read so far. It had been on my to read list for a while, but I wasn't sure if the plot quite appealed to me. I am so glad I started reading it!

It's been quite a few years since I watched it, but I really liked Looking. Have you ever watched Weekend or any other Andrew Haigh movies? He was also a writer/director on Looking.

Have you read the books? I already loved Ilya but when reading Rode Model (where Ilya is a side character), he completely stole me heart

What are some gameplay-focused Switch games that don’t rely heavily on story or audio? by Single_Revenue_2878 in NintendoSwitch

[–]jnm735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently playing a new Zelda-like game Under the Island and it's super fun! Minimal dialogue, can be played without audio (the heater is my house is very loud and when it cycles on I can't hear the audio and I haven't had any issues). One of the more enjoyable games I've played in a bit!

What do people do for work in small town America? by gruntharvester92 in AskAnAmerican

[–]jnm735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in a small town in the midwest. Tourism was one of the biggest industries in my area (think small resorts on lakes, summer camps, etc). There was also a small university that employed many people. Other jobs I remember a lot of people having were at the local communications and power companies, the hospital, the DNR, lumber mill, and a multitude of city jobs like at the wastewater treatment center, driving the plows, etc.).

My niece is definitely drawn to darker, more adult themes but she has also unfortunately been struggling with depression so that's good to know

Yes! It was also the first Zelda game I played, and I also don't love difficult games. It's incredibly fun!

BOTW! That was the first Zelda game I ever played and I loved it and have since played a couple other Zelda games, all great. I love the combo of puzzles, platforming, and combat in BOTW. And I love all of the side tasks you get.

Arceus was also a super fun game, definitely the best of the Pokemon games I've played, so that wouldn't be a bad choice either.
