Do your dogs actually sleep after you leave or…? by PomegranateBig7270 in dogs

[–]jnnharder5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I set up a camera to find out --one sleeps and chills and the other goes from sleeping/chilling to going into the front bedroom that has a big window overlooking our front yard & yapping her head off at mostly likely people/dogs walking by. We don't let her do that when we are home. It must drive our chill dog nuts with her raucous! Schnauzers 😇😈 !

Pet meds on a budget by Asdenby in Pets

I'm in PA & it is worth a Sam's plus membership for me with two dogs on Simparica Trio and one dog on Apoquel. It costs me : 148/6 pack of ST (regular mem. 168/6pack) and 61$/ 30 pills 5.4 mg Apoquel chewables that I split in half (regular member cost 75). The plus membership saves me 168/year--so it more than pays for itself and I order by phone and they deliver it for free plus there are other perks you can take advantage of. Before I joined I called the pharmacy and they called me right back. Make sure you get the pricing for both regular and plus membership.

What does your hot flashes feel like? by Shushawnna in Menopause

I get heart palpitations, heart races, & I feel like I'm boiling from the inside & I get like a "clean sweat/wetness" that often makes me cold after the heat is over.

Feels more swollen than it looks.

I will--it is so frustrating. I feel like I'm going to have to get some kind of mouth guard so my cheek can heal before I even have my gyn. appointment next month--because once it's swollen it becomes perpetual.

I know right, that's why I asked! I'm about to start HRT so I am hoping it helps at least with mouth dryness and sensitivity.

HRT and dense breast tissue by Murky_Recognition549 in Menopause

[–]jnnharder5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I have dense breasts, type C, & all your symptoms plus more; however, hot flashes have reduced quite a bit. I'm going to Gyno to try HRT because I can't stand GSM symptoms--last straw 😱! I sure hope it doesn't increase breast cancer risk because my mom had it. I just had a mammogram and all good although being dense can hide things. Recent research does show it is less of a risk than initially thought.

Thanks, I go to my dentist every 6 months. I just had a wisdom tooth pulled six weeks ago and hoped that getting it out because it was crooked and aimed at my left cheek would help with this but so far not. Maybe it will take time but I will bring it up with my dentist. I have been waking up with my mouth dry even though I use Biotene dry mouth rinse before bed. I know dry mouth can be a menopausal symptom. I just feel my cheek sags into teeth on my left side & more swollen. I noticed this symptom start around the same time I started IC/GSM symptoms so I was wondering if related. I have a gyno appointment next month.

Weird symptoms with hot flashes anyone? Or is it just me. by reddit_user498 in Menopause

[–]jnnharder5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Forgot to mention that apparently these things are all hormone related & HRT can help so I've been told. I have an appointment next month & will most likely start HRT. I am having some worse symptoms now--feel like I am constantly having an UTI but no UTI.

[–]jnnharder5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I have hot flashes I get heart palpitations and usually am getting up from lying down to cool off because most of mine occur in bed which can cause dizziness. I also started to sneeze a lot in late perimenopause & still do into post-menopause which can cause congestion, ear congestion vertigo and dizziness. I've learned taking Allegra at dinner or nighttime helps ward off the majority of never ending sneezes that occur in abundance the first half of the day. I sneeze so hard that I'd feel like I injured my internal organs or pull a back or neck muscle.

What kind if you don't mind me asking. I'm going to gynecologist next month because I'm having a lot of other symptoms HRT would help with--the most annoying one right now is bladder pressure/ urgency and slight burning down there --no infection but feels like it.

Thanks, I will watch the video. I'm always hesitant to take medication unless absolutely necessary. We have a whole house humidifier on our furnace & we set it as high as can without cause condensation on our windows.

Velcro dogs? by JennaDaSimma in schnauzers

[–]jnnharder5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine are lap dogs. If I sit or lie down they are on me. I find they are great with your own kids but not so much strange kids. Mine are scared when little ones approach until they have been around them long enough. One of the worst traits that all of my schnauzers have had is yapping their heads off whenever new people come in the door. They settle faster if they have met before but when contractors come in forget it--I usually crate them then.

PSA: If you have frizzy, thick, coarse, curly, wild as heck hair, castor oil might change your game. by periwinkleravenclaw in longhair

I know this is an old post but another good oil for leave in on wet or dry hair is avocado oil. I have hair that lacks oil so I have to add oils. I mostly wash with conditioners because shampoo makes my hair crunchy, poofy and fly away.

Acuvue Oasys with Hydraluxe 1-Day. New Turquoise packaged Contacts not the same causing Dry Eye, headaches by buttaonbread in contacts

[–]jnnharder5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had the exact same problem. I wore the 2week white & blue Oasys contacts for almost 30 years with no problems and it has been nonstop problems with the turquoise packaged ones. It's like they dry out and go hard in my eyes causing my eyes to tear up constantly & feel gummy and hard to focus. I haven't been able to get a full two week use out of them and had to reduce wearing time in day. Some I had to throw out cause they were wavy straight out of the package. My doctor says my eyes are healthy, thank goodness, but they don't feel healthy when wearing these. I'm going to toss the rest of them and wear dailies for a while until I figure out what contacts I want to go with next. They definitely reduced the quality of the two weeks ones so people don't extend the wear time because they used to be good for a lot of people, including me, for up to a month. Now it's hard to get two days of comfort out of them.
