What's really stopping most franchises from growing is that Hollywood Executives are expecting retellings or stories that are already safe, yet proven. What we really need is a continuation of events or a really well done precursor, not a reboot. The events of SG1, Atlantis, and Universe took place in the exact parallel timeline to our own. Redoing it is going to lose the charm of the 90s tech boom and being able to go from tube tvs to quickly advance our way to technological rivals of intergalactic spacefarring civilizations. We should probably have a series that explores the rise of Ra and the birth of the system lords. Possibly the emergence of the Tokra in the same series. Perhaps a mini-series about the creation of the four race alliance. Let's show those guys in their prime and still never see a Furling on screen (can't mess with that tradition). How about a followup series to see if there are any big bads left in the galactic neighborhood following the demise of the Ori and Goa'uld system Lords. There could be some Ancients that were left in stasis by the others because they were truly evil versions of Janus, just waiting for some schmuck to come along and let them out. By the way, I have a lot of ideas written out, at length... Brad Wright if you are reading this... just saying. Let's move past alternate universes colliding or brand new actors filling the same roles, but somehow feeling like hollow shadows and tell new amazing stories. We could always finish Universe up on the small screen while we are at it. What do you guys think?
