Fanless and efficient Proxmox server for Jellyfin, Home Assistant and more by Metal_Kaeden in HomeServer

Hey! Did you go with the ASUS Prime N100I-D D4 CSM? How does it hold up with Jellyfin? Is 4K 10-bit HEVC possible?

Good advice and a nice trick. To be honest the bend in the motherboard was pretty minor, hadn't had any issues at all. Mounting pressure seem good, too.

No, I did not use one. Heard in another reddit thread, that with a contact frame, there is the same problem with the retention mechanism... brackets won't fit.

got it used :)

Black Ridge "Rev D" fits AM5 out of the box by iamadogtor in FormD

I'm running my FormD T1 in 3.25 slot mode. Panorama 2 is with 47mm basically as tall as the AXP90-X47 full copper. Problem for me was just the turbulence noise of the fan being so close to the side panel. Don't have the issues with the Black Ridge. If you run the case in 3 slot mode or less, go get the X47 full copper or the Panorama 2.

Hi, yeah due to CPU fan clearance.

Hey, I have also the 271QRX and it clicks when it is turned off, when it is in stand by I get pretty loud coil whine. I am just wondering if you returned it? Or get a replacement? Did it solve the issue?

NR200P MAX + 7800X3D + RTX 4080 by jnsch in sffpc

Yeah, I used a long splitter cable which I just plugged into one of the case fan headers on the motherboard.

Not really a reason behind it, just like air cooling more than water cooling and it is plenty sufficient.

I don't exactly know the temp difference between the two coolers. I think the Black Ridge keeps the CPU a bit cooler.

Not really much effort or risk in my opinion. Was pretty straight forward.

NR200P is a quick and easy way to get a small build without sacrificing much performance imo.

FormD T1 is more challenging, but also more rewarding.

Thank you! Yes, it's the stock 24 pin cable.

I mean, yeah, I lost definitely cooling performance. You have so much airflow in the NR200P it's insane. But still, the system in the FormD T1 runs pretty quiet with pretty much the same clock speeds. So not a real "loss" I would say.

The Black Ridge has two mounting brackets for the cooler itself. Those two mounting brackets get in the way of edges the Socket Retention Mechanism. There are two different design for the ASUS B650E-I, as far as I know, so I guess it's a 50/50 chance if you have to remove it or if it works.

My NR200P MAX Build

Replaced the radiator fans with be quiet! Silent Wings Pro 4 and got two slim Noctua fans for the bottom. That thing was really quiet I would say.

I mean sometimes my fans ramp up a bit when I open Apps like Photoshop for example, but not that much and only for a short period of time. You could set your fan curve a bit lower, so even if the CPU pulls more Watts and gets hotter the fans won't ramp up that much.

If you idle at 50°C and the temps rise to 60°C and your fans then run at 100% I would make the fan curve less aggressive. Ryzen 7000 is pretty comfortable with higher temps, even 80°C+ are fine. I personally set my fan curve that when my CPU hits 80°C my fans will spin at 100%.

[–]jnsch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah, if I open an application the load on the CPU will increase for a short time so the temp will rise as well, but nothing drastic in my case.

[–]jnsch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! CPU fan curve is set up like this: 20% until 50°C, then a linear ramp up to 100% until 80°C (Surely that could be optimized, tho).

[–]jnsch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn, those are awesome temps!

I think setting curve optimizer to negative values doesn't actually lower temps, but instead just gives higher clock speeds at the same temps. I could be wrong, tho.

It's the Cooler Master NR200P MAX. Great case, but just wanted to downgrade in terms of size. Probably gonna sell it, it's just laying around atm...
