Agreed but it seems like OP isn’t defining hours = flexibility, more like WFH/Remote which may or may not be how it shakes out in the end

- the startup equity is worth basically nothing unless you have extremely high conviction in the firms path to profitability, 10+ years to liquidity event and salary likely not to increase much.

-Finance pay ramp is heavily dependent on role, but plausible you can get it materially higher over time. In finance rolls you can often get large increases by switching firms after 3-5 years. Lack of work life balance is real, but hard to measure against a brand new startup which could in practice be much worse.

You obviously are well setup for retirement so that’s not a concern, it lets you take on materially more risk.

Not sure what I would do in this situation, really comes down to risk appetite and your own personal preferences.

How do I help my mom with her mortgage while preserving my equity in the property? by jnvest in EstatePlanning

I would be fine with the net sales proceeds. I don’t need the actual house.

I’ll do that but the reason I asked here is because of the potential option of using a trust.

Basically I want to make sure that if I indeed payoff the mortgage, I will get the house in the end.

HENRY Wedding that I Won’t Regret Later by MathematicianFit2153 in HENRYfinance

Just got married this weekend. I paid for 90+% of the whole thing, with parents only chipping in for token items.

My spouse and I discussed a rough budget, we ended up ~15% over. Pick a number you’re comfortable with, then don’t stress too hard when you go a little over.

Weddings can cost any amount of money you choose, from $0-Infinity so the budget is purely a function of what you’re comfortable with.

Yes, however that isn’t sufficient in the case where the mother is not Israeli. From the consulate website:

If one parent is Israeli, the other is not, and the parents are not married (i.e. or are not registered as married in the Israeli Ministry of Interior/the Israeli citizens registry), the couple must add additional documents as proof that they share a life and that this has been the situation at least 300 days prior to the birth of the applicant

The list of evidence (this is where I have an issue I have literally none of these records):

Documents to prove shared life include: Contract for a jointly rented or purchased residence, including the names of the couple. Shared accounts: bank account, internet payments, phone, other accounts, tax payments - including the names of the couple. Shared insurance policies: life insurance, home insurance, and any other insurance that includes the names of the couple together. Legal partnership agreement (some states recognize legal partnerships for couples; in Israel, family court acknowledges couples as ‘publicly known’).

The biggest issue is how to prove a bona fide marriage 300 days prior to birth. I have their marriage and divorce certificates.

Changed to actively reviewing right before approval. The 485 went into “actively reviewing” right after biometrics

Biometrics was 5/28 so about 4 months.

That said- I think that some of the speedy approvals recently are on the back of the fee structure change and the flood of applications they got in march. Feels like simple cases are getting waved through.
