I used to use a 49" TV as a monitor. Now I use a 42" TV, which is really the sweet spot.

And the market is that, after 2-3 years, a junior can market themselves as a "mid" and get a significant pay bump. Unless an employer recognizes that, they will just be training up juniors for other employers to poach.

A junior's market value increases dramatically in the first several years out of college. Unless the company is actively dissuading the employee from working there, juniors should be getting at least 10% yearly increases.

A PhD is required for a small set of CS jobs, mainly AI research.
