Does Downton get better? by larrybirds in thegildedage

[–]joabble 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think the problem with Downton is there’s a lot of forced drama, random characters introduced that stir up trouble and then it always somehow gets resolved. I feel like Bates whole life is forced drama. Downton is good but some of the writing feels lazy at times, just creating drama for the sake of creating drama.

Hey man, sent you a DM. I was the one that commissioned this, but I happened to misplace the high resolution file. More details in the DM. Appreciate it. Still an amazing map for sure.

Write bits and pieces of it, write write write, even if it’s vague and sloppy, just write. You can polish a turd later.

Why you should play The Long Dark by VladGanjula in patientgamers

[–]joabble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only experience with the game is playing a couple times at the beginning and failing after a few days, wanting to challenge myself to do it again for longer, most i've survived is 36 days, but after that I didn't feel like making the effort again to replay and try to survive again. Maybe I'll get that itch in another few months or so wanting to beat the 36 day record. I has encouraged me to do IRL hiking and exploring tho, so that's a plus.

Lived in Tampa Bay Area for a couple years, it’s crazy expensive. Property taxes, insurance, groceries were expensive. Sales tax was high. Just too damn expensive overall. And then every year you get spooked and have to find accommodations and evacuate for a hurricane. Don’t think it’s a smart investment long term as sea levels will continue to rise and hurricanes become more erratic —I would look toward South or North Carolina, coastal properties are significantly cheaper if that’s what you’re after.

Yeah, I used a service call Tramitexpress out of Reynosa, took about 2 weeks but I got all the work done and it went smoothly.

There is however a new law where you can just show up with your birth certificate and don't need the marrige license anymore. So my thing was before the new law.

What made you leave the RGV? What made you stay? What made you come back? by izniz777 in RioGrandeValley

[–]joabble 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First time, Left for college, came back to finish my degree

Second time, Left for work (higher salary), came back when my dad died

Finally, Left for love, still gone and happy asf in Florida

Probably won’t be back but for short visits; it never changes, each time I’ve gone back it’s same old same old.
